Where I stopped, I need to backtrack through a rather lengthy level to the ship. And I don't even know if it's possible to backtrack to there, because I slid down multiple ice paths that you can't go back up to get to where I am.
This is objectively a bad game, which is rather unfortunate given the small number of Star Wars games released since Disney bought the franchise and the quality (or lack thereof) in those other games.
I get the ice caves area can be confusing but there’s a holomap for a reason.
As for the actual topic of this discussion. Tbf, if it wasn’t for being a major Star Wars fan I don’t think I’d ever have even bothered with the game. I do love it personally even past just the Star Wars aspect. But I do see what you mean with the “needless backtracking” although it just seemed like an easy way to make the overall game time longer. Also personally I really hate puzzle centred games in general but this game kind of made them bareable
So, you either have to get use to it or just stop playing it and watching it's cutscenes on youtube.
Yeah, this game does not really capture what a Jedi really does in Star Wars.(since you do much more tomb raiding, platforming , swimming and fighting animals than fighting the bad guys or helping people as a Jedi)
I stopped because I realized I'd have to spend another hour or so figuring out how to go back through areas I'd already gone through playing a game I already found incredibly dull.
Which goes back to OP's point. The game is mostly platforming on rails, with some simplistic puzzles and bad physics, with few and simple enemies.
too many genres rolled into one game. a mess. if it wasn't star wars i wouldn't of bothered giving it a go.
This is pretty much how i feel......i wanna see the story through but these drawn out boring platforming level designs are making it hard to bother
