You literally just invalidated your own complaint. Cere and Merrin have no combat animations aside from Merrin's stun she uses on Malicos, so unless they dropped a whole ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of extra work to create those animations, the best they could be is just a reskin of other enemies. Same for Vader. Honestly, your complaints about a free DLC being disappointing kind of just make you sound like a spoiled brat.
Edit: No, it seems that it doesn’t work like that, which is what I would have preferred.
It would be weird to have a cutscene about getting access to a Force power you already have access to. There would also be no reason not to just go directly to Dathomir and get the macguffin for the vault.
And going there with my favorite light color and available outfits is enjoyable for me.
You do have a point for the "arena mode" that is a bit wonky. the ennemies are kinda fighting with the floor physics sometimes and teleporting slightly to the sides making either a huge miss on you or hitting you if they should'nt have.. but hey, story perspective, it works.
And i would have preferred a proper jedi outfit like when he is young instead of inquisitor wich doesn't make any sense imo but i can't blame people for wanting that stuff.
You're simply wrong. The story progression isn't tied to the powers, as you get them exactly when you need them to progress the story. There are only a few that might cause that issue, but it would be incredibly easy to get around that. The only part that I can remember that is blocked by the need for a force power is Dathomir needing double jump. Everything else is optional stuff. And the map and NPC placement doesn't change based on powers you have, but story progression, meaning Malicos still won't be at the temple. They could have easily tied certain things (like doors being open or something) to bosses being defeated. It's literally one of the oldest tricks in the book. And it wouldn't take much work, either.
This update was bare bones. NJ+ is bs, especially compared to other and older games with similar features, and the exploration is tedious and boring. I appreciate the effort, but they could have done more, and should have.
Um, where did you hear that? Neither E.A. nor Respawn has said anything like, that, and while there will most likely be a sequel, whether it's in development or not is not clear.
the combat trials especially. i would have loved to dive into those having just finished the story, but with skills wiped out, youre pretty gutless against the waves of enemies. im not sure what the solution to keeping the powers while not conflicting with the story beats is, but only letting us keep the cosmetic stuff isnt much of a ng+ imo
dont get me wrong i love this game and its easily a 9\10 in my book, im just not digging the way the ng+ was tacked onto the game like that
Shame.
