Played on Origin instead of Steam...
And I was able to actually finish the game without freezing and minimal stuttering. Ah the classic game launcher rivalry continues. Don't sell the game via your launcher if it won't work through it. Would have just bought it through Origin in the first place and saved myself a huge headache troubleshooting.

My thoughts exactly.
It was still EA’s decision to sell the game on Steam.

And EA’s fault for forcing Respawn to make the game need Origin to run in the first place. Which is why running through Steam is a bit of a pain and there are no Steam achievements.

Absolutely. EA is no peach and this shouldn't be considered a praise by any means. I'm just sick of the competition between launchers.

Is it a pain in the ass to have steam, epic, and origin installed? not really on my end, but is it a pain in the ass to require two of them open at the same time to run a game? yea.

at least this isn't as bad as the console wars. downloading a client for an exclusive game is a lot easier than buying a new system for an exclusive

Did you buy on both to compare? Or are you just guessing that the stuttering is launcher related.

The game is unoptimised. This is a fact and the only important point that needs to be made. It has nothing to do with which digital platform/launcher you use.

It does indeed run better on origin having both steam and origin open consumes more cpu and is most likely the result of the stuttering.

Game uses denuvo. Maybe denuvo via Steam has perforance hit?

I bought on steam, made sure steam was not running, and ran the game via origin

Definitely unoptimized, but the fact that I was able to play the game without crashing via origin after crashing consistently via steam can't be overlooked.

this is true and obvious and that might have been the issue for me the entire time. when troubleshooting, i did run a CPU limiter and still experienced crashing and stuttering on steam versus when i did the same with origin

also possible, i don't know enough about that to make that conclusion

It’s not the direct cause of the stuttering, which is just that level design and area texture loading just isn’t optimized in certain areas (basically the game is loading more in at times than the engine should be), but the higher cpu usage definitely makes it worse.

Double the DRM cancer of course it's gonna ♥♥♥♥ up the game, this pisses me off with pc gaming all these platforms with their own launchers and DRM to delay pirates by like 2 weeks it's so much bs this is a reason to prefer console over pc, it's all in the same launcher.
