Jedi Fallen Order Origin crashing on start
I just bought Jedi Fallen Order on Steam and I installed it,

When I launch the game on Steam, Origin crashes, and when I try to get to the game on Origin it's not even in my library.

I've tried to give the game permission on my antivirus but that didn't help any.

I don't know if this is a Steam issue or and Origin issue, any help would be great because I just bought this game and was hoping to get to play it tonight, and instead I'm stuck troubleshooting

Thank you.

There have been many reports of this over the past day. EA said on Twitter that their servers are down. That was like 15 or more hours ago, though. Surprised they're still down.

I had the same issue, I found a thread online and someone suggested uninstalling from Steam and installing and launching from Origin. This worked for me, so hopefully it'll work for you too.

The issue is is that the game doesn't appear in Origin at all
I'll try launching the game again, hopefully it was just because of the servers being down

Yeah I've tried launching the game again and same issue, I don't think it can get far enough to link the game to Origin as the app crashes before anything can happen

I'm a big Star Wars fan and was looking forward to playing this game as I heard it was actually good, so I've been extremely disappointed with how many issues I have been having in just trying to get the game to load, and I can't seem to find anything helpful anywhere on the internet.
This is probably my first and last first hand experience with EA.

Thanks for the suggestion, I just tried that, and I can seem to only go back to 436, and that doesn't seem to change anything either way, Origin still says "Origin has encountered a serious problem and must close" anytime I try to launch from Steam :/

Don't know if this will help anyone as my situation was slightly different. But just in case it helps someone;

I managed to start the game last night and play a bit, but today it would not get past loading Origin. After trying a few things, I right-clicked the Origin icon in the system tray and opened it. It was stuck at a prompt stating that it had found local save game data, but nothing in the cloud. As soon as I told it to save the data to the cloud, the game started,

Like I said, might not be of use if you've never managed to get the game to start at all, but in case it helps somebody. At the very least, it suggests that Origin might be getting stuck trying to complete an operation that requires user input - but because its a buggy pile of garbage, it is failing to display the necessary UI.

I have the same issue both EA and Valve say this is the others fault. has anyone found a solution? I have seen quite a few threads on this issue, but no solutions.

I eventually just refunded the game and played it on my friends PS4 :/
I would just wait for a deal on the Origin store and buy it from them I guess.

I refunded then purchased through origin ended up with the same issue so I refunded and bought for xbox which was kinda a crap game so im ok with it.

Just to play is like torture on the high seas. Get off the control freak routine and launch the game.. Not buying any more Origutt games

added admin to origin, steam and the game and it works.

If it still crashes on start after setting apps to start as admin for origin, steam and game executable ("/Steam/steamapps/common/Jedi Fallen Order/SwGame/Binaries/Win64/"), set the game executable "starwarsjedifallenorder.exe" to windows compatibility mode Windows 8 in addition to start as administrator. That's what finally worked for me after taking mu cue from DMC1973's suggestion above.
