This game is hollow, unfinished trash.
It's like they tried to make a Dark Souls game set in the Star Wars universe.... this sounds awesome.

But strip away ALL character customization (no one cares about the stupid cosmetic ponchos), gear, branching story paths, interesting Force powers.... and then set it in a few planets that are empty, desolate (but nice looking) locales with a total lack of combative variety, inability to interact with the environment, here we go- Fallen Order.

We get the same boring Force Powers we've always seen- Push, Pull, Slow, Lightsaber Throw, and double Jump. Woo hoo. Can't electrify a hunk of debris and fling it into a group of enemies like you can in The Force Unleashed- no, you have to run up and just deflect laser bolts, dodge a few times and bop the hapless enemies a few times.

They had some interesting set pieces, but they felt unfinished. The AT-AT segment was very cool.... but over in a matter of seconds.

Finally, the story- THIS IS AWFUL. THE DEVS SHOULD BE ASHAMED. Not only is it ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ PLAGIARISM, it's just a boring story:

Post Order 66, a surviving Jedi tries to find a Holocron that has the names of all Force Sensitive children in the galaxy in order to rebuild the Jedi Order. The Empire wants it to make Sith warriors. THIS STORY HAS BEEN TOLD TWICE, IN CANON AND IN LEGENDS. The Librarian Jedi woman (Jocasta Nu, I think) is the one who deals with this Holocron in these stories. But now, Cal is the one who tracks it down, is confronted by Vader.... and then he proceeds to make Vader look like a punk. CAL IS A PADAWAN, AND HE MANAGES TO ESCAPE DARTH FLIPPING VADER. And then he destroys the Holocron, and in perhaps one of the lamest, most absurd setups for DLC I've ever seen, the game ends with him saying to his useless "teammates" (who spent the entire ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game sitting on the ship) "Well... where to next?"

If you enjoyed this, you're part of the problem. This was 8 hours of gameplay, and TRASH gameplay at that. None of the character developing of Dark Souls, none of the fun sandboxy lunacy like The Force Unleashed- this is just a vanilla 3rd person adventure game with a Star Wars skin overlaid. By accepting this trash as "good", you free developers to continue to lower their standards.

Next Star Wars game will be 3 hours long, have 2 characters in it, and it will tell the story of how a group of brave rebel spies stole the plans for the Death Star.

Well let's just say, if all you got out of this was 8 hrs of game-play, Then you missed most the game. You can't skip the cut scene's, so now your way under 8 hrs. You probably never went thru any effort to earn points for upgrade skills, so you didn't get to enjoy the combat side of this.

Point being, if you ran thru that fast, you missed it, so why are you complaining about something you didn't do. You played the game without playing. just watch a movie next time.

I filled out the entire skill tree. I have 9 stims- I assume I missed one somewhere. I am missing like 3 cosmetics.

I think I missed 1 health upgrade and 1 Force upgrade.

I played the game to completion. Just because I don't want to go back to the same empty, desolate world for a FIFTH time to find some useless crap that won't affect my gameplay experience in any way doesn't mean I "missed" anything. I don't need to 100% a game to formulate an educated opinion. I put more than enough time into this crap to put forth an educated opinion- I beat it! And I beat it WHILE WEARING A PINK PONCHO! So good!

Look at my achievements and tell me I missed something.

8 hours is "if you do nothing except rush through". I'd say I put about 13 actual play time hours in (much of the time you'll see in my "time played" stat, I was afk) trying to find all the stupid crap you seem to believe makes the game.

"Just watch a movie next time"- funny you say that; felt like that's what I was doing when trying to enjoy this game.

Ok, for what it's worth, going back for missing items is a waste. I managed to pull off a 100% complete, so I know what your missing was never needed.

BTW my sarcasm runs deep. So don't be offended. You make alot of valid points and your right the game does lack a little content. Perhaps they could have done things in a different way.

The last Jedi Knight I played was Jedi Academy. The Force Unleashed 1 n 2. That was along time back.

Jedi Knight games are like Star Wars movies. They all seem to lack......something and there only as good as the one before it. (you get what you pay for)

But I did/still do enjoy playing. I put in more time then I dare say and ready to move on. but it was fun reading your comments on the game.

I don't like this that Cal was never seduced by the dark side even though that he had lots of reasons for that.

for me it feels like the game is a reskin of Mirror's Edge...just shallow, non-stop parkour.

does it have motion captured sex sequences?

And it's still cost too much...

Well, perhaps that's because the folks at Respawn didn't even know they were making a Star Wars game until very late in the development?

I learned this moments ago.

This makes it all clear- that's why it feels like such a generic Tomb Raider game, because that's all it was actually meant to be!

That's not a very good excuse because games change a lot during development.

-Splinter Cell 1 was supposed to be a 007 game.
-Doom 1 was supposed to be a Alien game.
-Star Wars The Force Unleashed 1 was supposed to be a Star Wars Holiday Special game.(Wookie warrior)
-Devil May Cry 1 was supposed to be RE 4.
-Assassin's Creed 1 was supposed to be Prince Of Persia game.

I didn't say it's a good excuse.

It's absurd that a property like STAR WARS has to do ♥♥♥♥ like this. It should begin as a concept for a Star Wars game, and then be built from the ground up.

Instead of this "Hey we need a Star Wars game to help prevent the total loss of our fanbase because of the terrible sequels. Quick, find an incomplete game in it's early stages that we can shoehorn a Star Wars storyline into, and reskin."

I am ashamed I supported this by spending my hard earned money on this CRAP.

If it was only 8 hours of game play, why does your review say you played for 38 hours?

About 13 hours were gameplay.

The rest of it was afk. The notion of playing this for 38 hours is completely absurd. In the 13 hours I spent mucking about, I've decided that it should be legally considered torture to subject a person to that amount of time with this lousy heap.

It only got 13 good hours out of me because I WANTED it to be better, I wanted it to "open up"- I wanted the world to expand a bit, skillset and enemies, possibly see some consequences for choices... for some reason, I was just blindly imagining that there HAD to be more to it. That "unfinished" feeling drove me through the game, hilariously.

I mean... have you seen the state of Star Wars lately? By these standards, Fallen Order is pretty damned good.

Oh the humanity! People enjoying things that are entirely subjective and aren't the way I want things to be! Heaven forbid we need more self righteous holier than thou ♥♥♥♥♥ like you.

A polished turd is still a turd.

Even when a disgusting turd is placed next to a slightly less disgusting turd- they're still both turds.

This attitude of "well at least it's better than X" is also fueling mediocrity.
