Game not launching: Origin Error
Hey, so when I first launched the game, it downloaded origin and everything seemed fine, but upon downloading origin, the game just didn't launch and I got an error code which stated "Origin has encountered a serious problem and must close." It then prompts me to restart origin or exit origin.

So to try and fix this I did several different things.
1) I tried uninstalling origin
That didn't really work. The game once again prompted me to download origin and then failed to launch once again.

2) I tried running the game as an administrator.
That seemed like it was going to work, but that then opened the Origin application on my computer, prompted me to input my account info, and then tried to get me to enter my key for the game in. I assume this would have wanted to allow me to play the game on Origin itself, but as I purchased this on Steam, I don't have a game code that I can find.

3) I've tried rebooting my PC, updating my drivers, and all that gobbledeegook
Sometimes the simplest solution seems like it would work, but it did not. Even after updating all my drivers, updating windows, shutting down my PC, and everything else the game did not launch and once again gave me the same error.

4) I even tried contacting EA customer support
I figured this would prove fruitless, but I tried anyway. They basically ended up wanting my game key, I assume to put the game in Origin for me so I could play it on there rather than Steam, but since I bought it on Steam I have no key. They then basically told me there was nothing they could do.

Right now I am at a loss, because I did want to play this game. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I can't have been the only one to have this issue right?

This worked for me: close steam, open and log into Origin. Jedi Fallen Order will be listed in your library. Click on it and play there, in Origin. It won't work in steam.

Currently redownloading the game right now. Hopefully what you said ends up fixing the issue, but when I tried going on Origin the game would not show up in my library.

You don´t need to redownload. Origin can run the steam install.

Ah yes I understand, however what I meant was that I already uninstalled the game off of steam to try and see if that would work. I didn't mean that I was trying to redownload on Origin. Currently the game is not showing up in my Origin library, so I am hoping that once I try and start it on steam it also shows up there as well.

Start on Origin. It was the only way I could play it.

Still not resolved. When trying to launch the game, I get the error "Origin has encountered a serious problem and must close." I am unsure of what to do. The game is not appearing in my Origin library and I do not know how to get it to link.

I've seen this happen with afew other game. It may all not fall you. With some 3rd party launchers like Origin. The data needed to launch and play the game may take longer to transfer. Waiting a few minutes longer is the easy work around. Or perhaps you filled out the log in page incorrectly. Use a different E-mail acct. and try again. I've had the same E-mail for years and still get errors and problems going thru a process like this. These are the two things to date that have held me from playing. Maybe they can help you too.

I don't even get the chance to log in to Origin before Origin crashes. Immediately after installing Origin via launching the game, I get the error.

Then join/log in to Origin before you launch JFO. Make sure you verify your log-in via your E-mail. Even if you got the game thru steam Origin will find it and add it to your Origin game library. Once there you no longer need Steam. You can launch from Origin instead.
