Lightsaber gone!

Hi - just got to the snow planet/Jedi Temple and my lightsaber has gone. After the cutscene in the ship, I go to the bench to upgrade my lightsaber, but when I finish, he doesn't do that brief brandishing thing with his new lightsaber - which I thought was weird. Anyway - get to the snow cliff/Jedi Temple thing - no lightsaber. WTF? I run around fiddling with the rope-things to let light in, but I'm pretty sure there are some snowy doors I could slice thru if only I had a lightsaber...

Oh - and I saved in the ship, so I'm buggered if this is irredeemable :(

Just follow the story, you will be able to backtrack this area

Cal broke his lightsaber at the temple back on Dathomir.
Ilum is the planet padawans go to build their lightsabers because the kyber crystals that power them are abundant there. The whole time Cal was using his master’s lightsaber, so now you’re going in to build your own.

In short, you’re not supposed to have your lightsaber here for a bit, it’s just part of the story.
