Single vs Double Blade...?

I have read that the single blade is more powerful but almost all the vids I watch show players using the double, and mostly purple for some reason. Also some of what I have read on boss fights advise using the double..

So which is better to use, both in general and for bosses..?

The game actually tells you. Single blade deals more damage, but it's slower and has small area of effect. Double blade deals less damage (a lot less), but hits faster and in several direction, ideal for fighting groups.

There is very little reason to use double blade against single enemies or bosses.

You seeing people using double blade all the time it's either because they were not paying attention to the tutorial when you first pick it up.. or because they just think it's cool and don't care about it dealing less damage.

On top of that, lately you learn combos that change the type right on the middle of it while extending the offense... I found that very useful against anything to keep the pressure on.

The double is also the best for deflecting blasters.

Colour is cosmetic only.

Interesting, thankyou. I knew the double is better for multiple enemies but even today when I was reading up on dealing with Malicos whomever it was advised using the double. That is what prompted me to ask in here.

Also because I have finally made it to the final mission on Grand Master so not sure if I can beat the final boss or not. Actually I am surprised I made it this far lol.

This game is Lore UNFRIENDLY ( double in lore was superior to single just jedi not aproved to use it plus not so many could, sith didnt have this restrictions ) - lame padawan like gingerhead will kill himself just trying to swing

I've also heard that you can for some reason cancel double blade attacks with block, but not the single blade attacks. Cannot confirm that, I've already beaten the game.

This game is Lore UNFRIENDLY ( double in lore was superior to single just jedi not aproved to use it plus not so many could, sith didnt have this restrictions ) - lame padawan like gingerhead will kill himself just trying to swing

Well, if it was like in the movies, it obviously would make no difference in damage.. a light sabre is a light sabre after all... it messes anything up on touch alone. But this is a video game and they need to add downsides of using double blade and make them both different and useful in different situations.

They give some slower animation for double and faster for single or like in other games ( i will not say which one because i was blocked here for 24h when i compared this game to other product !!! - EA influence i think ) they could implement STANCES like in lore ( faster , slower , for single and double ) one button to change stance and fights would be much more interesting than slow attack or fast attack - this kid got skills like children fighting with sticks or Fred Flinstone with club

Yeah I don't know of any jedi in the movies having a double, but you did have that choice in KOTOR TSL tho but that was probably just to please customers..

most fights with humanoids are 3+ enemy's than double is much better to kill this weaker fast and focus on Black guys :p With animals .... i hate those fights, jedi padawan who got problems with rats, slime's , bugs, spiders or goats ?? :( double and single looks bad when you fight with RAT :p

If you get the hang of the delayed combo for the double it deals more damage. Still best for groups or the inferior enemies. Double is fine for boss fight but will drag it out longer but since it is quicker it gives you more time to react on the defense.

Personally i am constantly switching between the two. I typically use single for bosses. It comes down to your style, comfort and preference.

I go with double, since I like being fast. That way I can match both fast enemies and slower ones, by dogeing them easily.

The reason it's so easy to switch between them os because you're meant to switch between them in combat
