LT to grab onto walls.
What clown programmer decided this was necessary? In the dozens of other 3rd Person Perspective games (God of War series, Tomb Raider, Monster Hunter to name a few widely successful titles) you don't need the added input to grab onto walls that are specifically designed to be grabbed onto. This added input does nothing to enhance the gameplay and only makes it more cumbersome. Patch this "feature" out please.

Excuse me? To grab onto walls in nearly all of those games you need to press a button. Especially tomb raider. You use those climbing hooks remember? Lmao

Haven't played the new ones but the early tomb Raider games didn't require additional inputs to grab ledges. GoW, Monster Hunter, AC games don't either.

It's jarring at first, but as you progress through the game you learn that it makes sense.
Minor gameplay spoilers:
LT is used for Force Pull.
When you gain the ability, you can use it to pull yourself to a wall or to pull a rope to you, in mid-air.
But also, sometimes, maybe you don't actually want to grab onto that wall.

another thing that wasnt mentioned, being able to release from climbing and then grabbing back on is really useful in some places where u are going down rather than up

Not from a great distance, but enough to save your ass if you misjudge a jump.
