stupidly long load times?
I want to ask why are load times roughly ten minutes? Also when I finally get to play the game frame rates drop to literately 1fps

I have an intel i5 6600k 3.5ghz
32GB ram
GTX 1070
1TB SSD (which it's installed on)

I would like to play the game but it's virtually unplayable.

That's not normal, no. I've seen people complain about load time but I've never had to wait over about 3 seconds - if that. Maybe your files are corrupt because 10 minutes would be incredibly slow even for a HDD.

I've tried verifying files and reinstalling it and nothing fixed it.

Faulty SSD maybe? Do you get the issue in any other games?

try running scan disk and defrag on the drive your OS is on..
turn off any un needed background programs running..
play off line...could be the Origin or Steam program screwing you up

Probably need a driver update. Also, and this is very important, do NOT let the piece of crap GeForce Experience run in the background, I can't stress that enough.

If your on the downside of the drive and have more used space then free, load times can be effected. Defraging a SSD is not a good idea. Bloodmist is right, avoid using those (special) apps that come with some gaming cards. Make sure your MOBO drivers are up to date also.

I'm streaming it using GeForce Now, still long load times. It's not consistent sometimes a reload is fairly quick other times the same location takes forever.

Well, like I said, that could have something to do with it. Obviously you can try playing the game while not streaming and not having anything running in the background except obviously Steam and Origin and see what happens. If you still suffer from the problem, it could be something else. Antivirus? Malwarebytes? Anything you shouldn't be using while playing any game, in other words. Oh I just realized, do you have an older SSD? Because if it's old, they weren't exactly made with standardization, and are known for erratic behavior.

Never defrag an SSD - defrag is only for HDDs. It only decreases the lifespan of SSDs.

Actually, as of Windows 10 and newer SSD's, windows built in 'Defragment' app knows how to work properly with SSD's. It's not actually moving data all around on the SSD like it did / does with HDD's. And, the only reason it 'used to be' considered 'bad' is cuz SSD's have a life cycle for number of writes to each memory cell. This number isn't even an issue for home PC users and usually only becomes relevant in a corporate setup where data is constantly being stored to drives as people work. A home PC user will probably never write enough data to an SSD to wear it out before they end up upgrading to some new technology 5 or more years from now. So, defragmenting (even in older apps) shouldn't be an issue. But, With 10 and later, it's just doing a performance optimization anyway. Basically like running the TRIM commands manually cuz you opted to... as opposed to waiting till down time. Now, that's with Windows built-in Defragment app... can't say what some 3rd parties app maybe doing.

It's utterly useless with modern hard drives either way, really. It's literally a non-issue considering how fast a 7200rpm hard drive actually is. Yes, they're amazingly fast for being a spindle reading device. If one game is giving you long load times only, in particular. If all of your games are having long load times then you might think about defragging. One game usually means there's a hardware conflict or a driver issue or you're running one of those useless pieces of bloatware like antivirus and it's causing problems. Actually antivirus causes many performance problems for many games across the board. I, actually knowing how horrendous they have always been, try to tell people that, but people are so brainwashed into being frightened into using the crap from Norton or whoever that they just ignore what I say. Especially with Windows 10 having it's own well done software monitoring. But, oh well. I make money fixing issues caused by preinstalled crap like antivirus software so I guess it's win-win for me. :cuphead:

@BloodMist
Yeah, I learned that pretty quick about those Anti-Virus apps. They're almost pointless anyway. A PC user who's not very knowledgeable is probably going to let the virus in cuz it prompts them for what it should do. They'd be like... well, I'm trying to use this so let it do it's thing. *boom*

The only decent Anti-Virus is one that is just used for manually scanning files and not hogging resources when you are not using it intentionally. I keep a couple just for that. But, they're dormant / inactive until I open them and use them for file scanning. Basically, Windows built in Security is going to deal with everything just fine for 'normal' PC use. Ofc, if you're surfing questionable websites, clicking random links all over the web, you are prone to get a virus. Just don't do it... only click on reputable sites and use a web browser plug-in that checks site reputation scores.
