A moot point for mods that'll roll in a few months. I won't be replaying the game when I am done just for mods, so oh well.
If that's added I'll be playing the game for quite a bit longer. A mod that adds post game semi hidden enemies is also another idea (put them in cleared ruins after you beat the game or something).
There's bigger ideas but that would take a lot longer to add in.
Also, texture mods are a far cry from mesh mods. Again: good luck with that. I hope it works out for ya. I might pop back into the game from time to time, check out some of the mods, just because I love the game so much. I feel like some really clever modders will eventually work out how to implement dismemeberment, but I think it's a ways off yet. I might be wrong; hope I am...
I'll be watching but patiently waiting, because I don't think it will happen really soon.
Hopefully some quest tools will give someone the ability to add some backstory and variety to them. As they are now, they just seem like a cobbled-on feature that was supposed to be much more... Or did I miss something playing in Story Mode through those?
First mod was the one to make Cal not a ginger.
I mean, if you look at it logically not letting players play the parts they enjoy has got to harm sales in the long run. If only because the next game might have the same stuff lacking which in turn means less time playing the game (and thus less of a desire to have the game as a result). Compare this to the fact other games allow such things which increase the time and fun factor of playing a game and it simply makes sense from a business standpoint to let players do that again.
I'm sure it's simply an oversight though. Will probably be fixed in any sequels or DLC (or mods maybe?).
Or maybe the devs played it "too safe" with this game. If that's the case I say take more risks and it pays off. I imagine being a "souls like" game might have caused concerns of seeming a bit "alien" to star wars fans (which in turn likely means holding stuff back due to wondering if the game would succeed). Since this is the first star wars game that plays like souls games.
I'm strangely pedantic all of a sudden.
