Game still stutters a lot even after patch
so...i haven't been to the wookie planet yet where most of the problems are supposed to be. but even in the other places, it still stutters

its annoying, it otherwise runs at 120 fps at all times. 2080 ti, i9 9900k, 16gb

Seems to be prevalent in a lot of UE4 games though.

So there's literally nothing we can realistically do then, right? I already only sort of like the game, and the stuttering just makes it even worse. I honestly can't believe that capping it at 720p 30fps with everything set to low still causes stutters on a 2060/i5-8400 and 16GBDR4 with a SATA SSD. Like, this is impressively horribly optimized. Outer Worlds was also a stutter-fest for me, it's making me completely unwilling to buy UE4 games ever again.

Yes because steam discussion page is a mess and it won't load 9/10 or doesn't do what you click on.

His response was unnecessary, so the coarse reaction was aimed at him. I think i've done plenty of my own investigations to justify giving several statements on things.

To then label it trolling is annoying.

I take that as an apology for your unnecessay rude behavior kid.

Have fun.

Finished the game yo. Whatever wouldn't touch it in ten foot pole. Shutter and frame dip was everywhere on bogano on whatever setting. It is clearly coded by monkeys.

No, ♥♥♥♥ your strawman. What are you, some disgruntled Respawn employee?
"...not to be taken seriously." You said it yourself.

My computer is a potato and this game definitely performed better the first few days compared to now.

I hope it lasts, but on a whim I decided to try Windowed Fullscreen, and all but the barest flicker of stuttering went away!! Played for a few hours and except for that tiny little hiccup that only lasted a microsecond like from before the patch, the game runs perfectly smoothly again. I can live with that.

Playing through on Jedi Knight difficulty this time, and it helps not having that stuttering crap going on. Let's just see how long it lasts though.. I'm fully expecting it to return at some point. Probably after another update...? :-(

you need to sort out your pc cause its silky smooth for me on just a 2060
ImPulse01 Nov 25, 2019 @ 4:03am
I have a Ryzen 5 3600 and a Radeon RX 5700XT. No issues here at 1440p Ultra. Maybe Nvidia just sucks? Lmao

It has been established by numerous sources, that the game has stuttering issues regardless of what PC or platform is running on. It is highly unlikely that either of you somehow magically got the game to run "silky smooth".

The game also suffers from some stuttering issues, especially when loading new areas. This issue affects all versions of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, so hopefully Respawn will address it via a post-launch update.

At 1080p and 1440p game performance is identical, primarily due to this game being CPU-limited. At 4K, we can see the game becoming mostly GPU-limited, though the same stutters and near second long performance pauses can remain.

In Kashyyyk, these stutters can happen during level traversal and in combat, while other early section of the game have these dips mostly during level traversal. In both cases, these dips can break immersion, and in the case of the in-combat dips, it harms gameplay.

What's more likely? That professional reviewers need to "sort out their PCs" or that your game stutters too, but you don't notice it? You're probably running it on a jumpy frame rate with v-sync off, so the stutter fest you're already used to hides the stuttering we're talking about.

If you think you're running it smoothly, just record your gameplay as you turn left after the very first slide you encounter in the game, and prove it.

Well it runs smooth for me at all times so it is possible with certain configurations, apparently.

This.

Plus, install the latest Studio Driver from Nvidia with DDU in safe mode.

It would be extremely weird, since the issue is related to loading assets, and it is occurring with all possible combinations of hardware, AND consoles.

What's your configuration?

Do you run it with v-sync on or off?

Does your monitor have adaptive refresh rate? (Freesync / Gsync)

If you're on windows 10, you can easily record a 30 second clip of a location known to produce stutter (right after the very first slide as you start the game) and upload it on youtube at 60fps.

These are random PC letsplays. Can you notice they all stutter (or even freeze for a second) at that spot? This exact thing is happening on many other areas in the game.
