Also origin premier is a 15 dollar subscription to try the game out. So I dont know where it is that I'm buying the full game a second time.
There are no performance issues in RDR2
People just aren't used to games that push their hardware so much and are therefore quick to call it "unoptimized"
I'm still surprised at how RDR 2 pc turned out, given that Rockstar succeeded in releasing a great port of GTA V back in 2015.
Marko is wrong, RDR2 is horribly optimised on PC. I have an i9 9900K and an RTX 2080 and performance leaves a lot to desire. I had to use an online guide to customise the settings. Basically I can have everything maxed out on 1440p but I need to have certain settings fully disabled as those specific settings are what is causing the performance issues for everyone.
Part of the issue as well is that the settings menu itself doesn't work well either and simply setting the game to lowest settings also does not fix the performance issues on RDR2 you literally have to set every setting individually to suit your hardware. With some settings simply manually disabled regardless of hardware.
If that is not poor optimisation then I don't know what is lol!
As for the save transfer I guess that worked for you? I am in same boat as you - played the game at release on EA Play subscription and now want to buy the game. Game is substantially cheaper on Steam than on Origin so want to buy it here to do a new play through but was worried my save would not transfer.
OP clearly stated he played it with Origin Premier (now called EA Play) he is not "rebuying" it. Game is also cheaper on Steam than on Origin to buy.
