I had to get it on steam to be able to use steam link, my other origin games dont work well with it but for whatever reason thankfulky jfo does.
https://segmentnext.com/2015/11/05/how-to-enable-offline-mode-in-origin-and-play-without-internet/
It would be nice if Origin could detect the incoming request from Steam and deal with this.
very good to know actually
Origin does not stay in offline mode for me. Cannot play offline if i restart my computer.
Anyone else experiencing this or is there something im missing? Any help appreciated.
Despite being in Offline mode, Origin detects an error and doesnt start the game because it cannot go online.....
But neither steam nor EA manage to launch the game anyway... because even on online mode Origin wont make the game start.... unless I double click on my exe at the root of the folder, go figure.
Not a single of my games under Origin was able to work flawlessly.
Origin.... EA...... I hate you soooooo much.
For Laptop or PC, a day before you go on leave:
- Launch the game online through Steam, go to the menu, and exit
- Go offline mode in steam, so you don't have last minute updates that would annoy you
- open origin with internet connection, then switch it to offline
- don't turn off laptop, put it on standby then close it
- there you go, you should keep this configuration next time you open your laptop, you can launch the game via steam shortcut, or steam itself.
Otherwise you can do all this at once when you are away, but you will need your cellphone connection to set all of this up.
DO NOT turn off your PC, because next time you boot, origin will not start offline, and you won't be able to change it.
With Uplay, GOG, Steam, Epic (so far) you can access games offline, provided it is not considered a first time launch (aka, there hasn't been any updates between the last time you played it online), but origin is the only launcher thats this bad....
