Jedi Fallen Order Must Provide Offline Play
My connection to the Internet was severed while I waited for the techs to troubleshoot. In the meantime, I wanted to play JFO. I noticed not only does EA's Origin not run, but neither does JFO. I understand a game on Steam like Elder Scrolls Online requiring an online connection to play, but this is a single-player game. This is not acceptable. I should be able to play in offline mode when the need arises.

Valve should enforce this policy on publishers selling games on their platform.

How to Enable Offline Mode in Origin and Play without Internet

It would be nice if Origin could detect the incoming request from Steam and deal with this.

so much for bringing the game to steam EA...

I mean it's there, but Origin isn't fully synchronized with Steam.

Its like buying a pirated copy of the game on a market stall, you paid for it so you bought it but the retailer isnt fully schynchronized with EA xD

Valve should enforce their offline play policy on ALL publishers. Which means Origin should automatically switch to offline play when it knows the user's connection is not present.

EA is probably gonna get a free pass on that, as first of many this is the kind of ♥♥♥♥ we have to put up with since Epic started to spoil AAA companies, and now valve has no choice but do the same.

I followed these directions. Login to Origin and then go Offline. Logoff my internet connection, shut down my computer and and start up without internet connections and when i try to run the game it opens back up to the Origin login screen. The game will not start but as soon as i open an internet connection the game immediately starts.
Origin does not stay in offline mode for me. Cannot play offline if i restart my computer.

Anyone else experiencing this or is there something im missing? Any help appreciated.

I confirm Offline doesnt work.

Despite being in Offline mode, Origin detects an error and doesnt start the game because it cannot go online.....
But neither steam nor EA manage to launch the game anyway... because even on online mode Origin wont make the game start.... unless I double click on my exe at the root of the folder, go figure.
Not a single of my games under Origin was able to work flawlessly.
Origin.... EA...... I hate you soooooo much.

not sure if this works because my origin access hasnt run out yet, but try launching the game through origin, worked for me the other day. Then again my origin access is active for another week or two so maybe thats affecting it

Okay, finally found a way to make it work BUT it requires anticipation or the ability to use your cellphone connection at least once:

For Laptop or PC, a day before you go on leave:
- Launch the game online through Steam, go to the menu, and exit
- Go offline mode in steam, so you don't have last minute updates that would annoy you
- open origin with internet connection, then switch it to offline
- don't turn off laptop, put it on standby then close it
- there you go, you should keep this configuration next time you open your laptop, you can launch the game via steam shortcut, or steam itself.

Otherwise you can do all this at once when you are away, but you will need your cellphone connection to set all of this up.

DO NOT turn off your PC, because next time you boot, origin will not start offline, and you won't be able to change it.

With Uplay, GOG, Steam, Epic (so far) you can access games offline, provided it is not considered a first time launch (aka, there hasn't been any updates between the last time you played it online), but origin is the only launcher thats this bad....
