Light Sabre or Light-up Billy Club?
So I was pretty excited about this game until a few months ago I saw a gameplay video where they showed off some of the fighting and something that really bothered me was the light sabre combat.

It's a light sabre... so if you make contact with flesh and even a lot of metals, it should cut through it like a hot knife through butter. But what I was seeing in the gameplay previews was that you would hit enemies 4 or 5 times and they'd just stumble as if you hit them with the purple dildo bat from saint's row rather than a light sabre. Then on the final hit it's like you suddenly replaced the light-up billy club purple dildo bat with an actual light sabre and it sliced through the enemy as it should have done in the first hit.

Did they actually remedy this for launch or is this game's concept of the light sabre still an immersion-breaking joke?

The 2nd one. I get it that they wanted to make a combat system where you have to strategically use your fighting skills, but you have a point. It is immersion breaking that the lightsaber feels like some wooden club. Only exception is when you fight animals, which you can slice in half. But exactly this is why even Force Unleashed was a better game. You could at least feel that you are a freaking mofo.

bummer, thanks for the reply.

I'm all for making the lightsaber a one-hit kill if we do the same for blaster bolts and boss lightsabers. The first failed block against a lightsaber-wielding enemy and your head comes hurtling off.

If we're going for immersion then we have to be consistent! Right, OP?

Absolutely The Shoop. Light sabres should 100% be 1 hit kills. Blasters should be the same way unless you are wearing some sort of specifically designed reflective armor.

The methods of combat in the lore allow for light sabres to contact and so you can have swashbuckling sword fights and the light sabre is already established as being able to block and even reflect blasters... so I see no reason to not implement this into the gameplay and make 1 touch by a blaster bolt or enemy light sabre a 1 hit kill.

If this game didn't want to make light sabres work like light sabres and thought it was more important to have a damage system, then they shouldn't have included the light sabre to begin with.

While we're it at, let's remove respawns as Jedi aren't known for having multiple lives. Permadeath fits this consistency theme quite well.

I guess you're not a fan of health bars in any games?

Well you do one-shot most basic enemies. Storm troopers get one-shot as well as standard scout troopers. In any case, we barely ever had a lightsaber that one-shots enemies in any SW game except for the Jedi Knight series when you have saber realistic combat enabled. Also you are wrong as balls Nihilus. The lightsaber does not one-shot anything in Force Unleashed. It takes at least 3 hits to kill the most basic enemies. Lightsaber combat is pure trash in Force Unleashed.

Dude you trash through basically every enemy in Force unleashed. Mass murdering everything. And you are like that one character at the end of this game. #nospoiler.

BTW just because you say "you are wrong as balls", that doesn't make your opinion more valid.
And no, usually you don't onehit kill scout troopers in a regular fight. Just if you jump on them or use a skill later in the game or parry. Situational. You you are also wrong as balls.

False, you ALWAYS one-hit kill scout troopers when they have no stamina left. Captain scout troopers take 2. Thing is they block your hits with their baton. And no the more you advance in Force Unleashed the more the enemies have ways to block your force or lightsaber attacks. I felt weak as ♥♥♥♥ playing this game. Well, definitely not as strong as advertised. And yes storm troopers in Force Unleashed take 3 hits whereas they take only one in Fallen Order. This is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and you know it.

"when they have no stamina left." So if not this, what are your understanding under "situational"? :D
You feel weak as sh** in this game that's true, because you are just starting to regather your powers. But that doesn't justify why they added only so little variety of force powers.
Stormtroopers 3 hit? Replay that game please. ;)

No you have to hit them 3-4 times to exhaust their stamina! Not their HP!
