Why are Light Side powers so lame?

This isn't EAs fault. But the Dark Side can strangle people at range and generate lightning from their fingertips.

The force pull and lightsaber stab is pretty satisfying and force pushing a group of troopers off a cliff is always fun.

If nothing else it at least gives them fresh ground to cover if the game gets a sequel, maybe next game can be a dark side story or at least let you make an original character so Dark Side can be an option. Since this was a Canon story, can't have a legit Jedi using the dark side.

Some Jedi Masters's opinion are as same as Yoda's.But not all of them.I used to play Jedi Academy,I remember Luke Skywalker got the same idea,but Master Kyle said "A force power is not naturally good or evil,it depends on how you use them."

Force slow is absolutely a dark side power, and the protagonist actually remembers it over push and pull.

Disney canon can't be taken seriously though, so who cares.

Well, mostly it's because the abilities that you get by embracing the dark side of the force are... dark.

How is force slow darkside?

I thought the light side powers were defence healing
Darkside was damage
And push pull etc neutral.

I would have though slow to be a neutral as it doesnt inherently damage the target.

neither of the powers cal uses is light side. all of those are normal force powers anyone can use.

Light Side powers have always been "Lame". But these are neutral powers. Once I opened up the skill to Force Pull grunts to me and then stab them through the midsection in one killing blow, I was a little too happy about that upgrade and started enjoying it way too much.

Dark Side powers would be totally cool though. They could've had Cal "redeem" himself at the end for using them. Certainly could have written it in quite easily.

Still, would have loved a Force Heal ability at some point in the game.

It doesn't exist a difference between light side and dark when talking about powers. It's how you use them. And of course the character need to train in the force to be able to use them.

Cal could use the lightning for example, but since he is not able to do them because nobody gived him lessons, he can't use them.

And ever if he is capable of have that power, it will never use it to make someone suffer.

That's is why it has no sense to have those power in the game. The character is just a padawan that lost his master and his life. Not a Dark Jedi or a Sith Jedi that use the power of the force to gain power.

It's all down to the money men being too afraid to take a risk and let the devs do their job.

Luke skywalker used for choke in return of the jedi. I think this adds weight to force being neutral. It is intent and the heart of the force user that determines dark side vs light side.
