Always online?

Hey Chaps,

Have been searching online for a good bit and not found a definite answer yet.

I know you need to be online to download and do any updates etc.

But once you have downloaded, registered with EA either via origin or steam (I have accounts on both), launched the game first time etc, then next time you go to launch, do you have to have an internet connection always to play, or can you use steam offline mode while playing?

My situ is I have just moved home, my home move for my fibre is delayed annoyingly till Monday 18/11/2019 and I have taken a long weekend to play this. My idea is to take my PC over to my old place or a friends where I would download the game, launch it first time and get all that done and put steam in offline mode. Then bring my PC home, set up and play with no internet connection.

Will this work? Or will I need an internet connection every time I launch the game?

I'm pretty sure you can play in offline mode so dw especially if it's on steam it should be fine.

Thanks, if it doesn’t work I’ll wait till Monday either way.
But trying to see if it’s worth the hassle in the first place if it won’t launch after first time without a connection :)

Cheers, I know origin has an offline mode too as long as your game is downloaded and patched. It’s steam using the origin launcher in background, I was worried it would need me to sign in online via origin every time I launched the game.

Thanks all! All in all hoping it will work with both origin and steam in offline mode after first time setup and launch. I may just try anyway and post results here tomorrow for others who may have the same issue/query

UPDATE:
So my plan worked.

Downloaded and launched while still online on steam and origin, which links the game.
Restarted PC with no internet and steam in offline mode. It still lets you play and sign into origin offline as well.

So as per the above and replies, only needs Internet first time you launch and whenever you want to patch/update etc. Otherwise can enjoy offline.

Win win, now to go set my PC back up, looks like I can play on epic settings too
