I don't think it's that kind of Star Wars game, bud. Imgaine Dark Souls Sekiro with a Star Wars skin, that's closer to what you're getting.

There is starfighter game mode in Star Wars Battlefront II. You can fly X-wings TIE's Y-wings, and more.

It's before the formation of the rebellion and immediatly after the Empire Rise. XWing and the Rebellion still doesn't exist cus the game cover the period immediatly after the clone wars era through the order 66. Tie Fighter are in but Xwing still aren't born.
Maybe the Z-95 fighter (the ancestor of the Xwing) it's in.
