The game generally auto saves after each mission for the majority of the game. However, the autosave doesn't unlock until after the first three missions (they're not particularly long missions, but still allot yourself a fair bit of time to avoid losing your progress).

You can also manual save between missions but the game will clearly tell you when that is available.

The devs are aware the save system has been regarded as less than ideal and are supposedly looking at changing it (they keep noting it on patch notes), so you could also potentially wait til they get that update in - no saying how long that'll take though.

I got the popup saying I can now manually save between missions, but I don't see the option for that anywhere? Main menu still only have "load game". Is there an object in the office to interact with or something like that?

Nope, you do it in the menu, but only after missions (when the game generally auto-saves anyway). It may be a bit finicky about when you can actually do it, but generally as soon as a mission had finished, I'd go to the Settings and save and normally the option was available then (once or twice it wasn't).

Yeah it's kinda buggy. I checked between all of the first cases, it doesn't work when you aren't in a mission. But if you call someone and accept a case, and BEFORE going to meet them (and having the case title officially appear), the menu is available.

Kinda prevent you to make a hard save before accepting to work for someone full time after completing all 3 first cases, which is exactly the point I would love to save.

Unforgivable. I unhesitatingly gave the game a thumbs down in the store. I am a kickstarter backer too, I watched this game's progress for years. Absolutely maddening that I played for an hour and lost ALL of my progress because it didn't save anything. This is the year 2022, not 1980, players should be able to SAVE THEIR GAME and not lose hours just because they can't put in marathon play sessions.

The irony is that in some computer games, you absolutely could save when and where you wanted in 1980. A good example is Zork (which was first released on computers in 1977, when hard drives were an expensive luxury so gamers needed to use dedicated save diskettes) which let the player save entirely at their discretion. Yet here we are in 2022 where allowing gamers to save when and where they want is almost a rarity.

Even if the developer here just wanted to implement a "save & quit" function that'd be better than nothing. At least it'd let players stop playing when they want to without running the risk of losing a lot of time and effort.
