Here's my "Gaming Necessities Checklist", and whether this game has them or not:

1) Loads of action: CHECK!
2) The RIGHT amount of difficulty: CHECK!
3) Awesome level and character design: CHECK!
4) Full on immersion: CHECK!
5) A killer Heavy Metal soundtrack to back up your killing sprees: CHECK!
6) A developer who cares, and is active in discussions: CHECK!!!!!!

Seriously, GET THIS GAME if you look for the same things in a game that I do. You won't be disappointed!

Feels real good to finally (in VR that is) be able to just shoot scary-ass creatures and feel like a bad-ass!

So this arena wave shooter / horde mode shooter is actually different than most other wave shooters in VR. It has a lot more depth than your normal wave shooter in VR. There are so many weapons to use, from rifles to handguns to LMGs to katanas (and weapon skins for each). There's also different agents to use who have different stats that effect the way they play on the map, whether it's more speed, more armor, or more health.

Then there's the perks that change-up the game quite a bit. One of those perks lets you use experimental weapons like the grenade launcher. Another one let's you dual wield hand guns which is actually one of the best perks IMO. Then there's the different bonus pick-ups you can get on the map which gives you back health, armor, ammo, or temporary bonuses like infinity ammo.

There's also so many options in the settings. I just can't list them all, but you have full locomotion with snap turning (you can set the degree & speed for the turn). Do you hate red lasers pointing from your gun? Well, you can turn that off in the settings.

This is a run & gun style arena shooter that is stat based. That means you will have to upgrade your weapons & perks to go against the enemies in the higher difficulties. You can upgrade your weapon's damage, magazine size, accuracy & recoil. That recoil can be a major problem on some of the weapons like the LMG. So each gun does feel differently. Currently you cannot two-hand weapons, but that was in the game & was taken out (until it is fixed). Since it is stat based, it also means that using melee weapons is not as immersive as it could be as swinging your weapon hard & fast won't make a difference as it has a swing speed & damage that is pre-determined (but upgradeable).

There are two main modes: Mission & Horde. I did not like the Horde mode. It's basically just a small circular map where lots of enemies come at you and your only goal is to stay alive for as long as possible. I liked the mission modes a lot better. Mission mode has 3 maps: the above ground cemetery, the underground tombs, &, the further down, hell.

The main problem with this game (other than Horde mode not being very fun), is the enemy AI. They all just walk towards you (or fly towards you). While there is a challenge with the higher difficulties, it's more about the number of enemies and how many bullets it takes to kill them, rather than any real tactics. Conserve ammo as much as possible. Run. Get pickups. Rinse & repeat. You don't have to take cover or do anything smart.

Rate 6.66/10.

Playing on the Vive. The controls are still not working properly: you have to actually keep the grip buttons depressed to hold items, the Vive wands don't work well this way. I also could not get the run button to function.

It looked like a decent shooter otherwise, and I was interested but it needs more polish.

I played for about 2 hours and find the game really fun. My only complaint is that there is no smooth turning at the moment. The developer told me that he will fix that in an update that should be releasing soon. If you like video game metal and running around shooting skeletons, zombies, demons and other monsters in the face definitely give this a try. If i had to describe this game id call it doom if it were a waveshooter.. Upgradeable perks, weapons different playable characters with various boosts to stats like armor, health, run ect.. For the price its one of my favorite wave shooters.

fun game but very short.
you only get 3 missions and 3 arena fights, so there isnt a lot in terms of missions to do but what it does give is fun and it is priced accordingly though i think it should be right around $8-10. You can replay the missions on higher diffuculty which will give you more of a reward to unlock more guns, perks, and upgrades. You get a pretty good selection of weapons to pick from. The graphics look pretty nice. The devs have been very nice about adding things that I know I have at least asked for like smooth turning.

Its about the closest thing I've seen to a true Killing Floor game in VR. Would have been amazing if they went all the way with it as we dont have a KZ like game in VR yet and I'm sure many in the VR community such as myself are just drooling to play a real KZ like game in VR.

Better DOOM VR than DOOM VFR

Played on an Index with the Knuckles controllers. No finger tracking but the controls do work well.

Really fun experience. This is the closest Ive seen to a proper Killing Floor type game in VR.
Only 3 levels at the moment but a ton of weapons and upgrades to be found. Shooting is decent, button press for reload and no 2 handing the rifles so everything turns into dual wielding, but it works for this game.
Really hope this game gets Co Op in the future or even an option to play local Co Op with one in the VR and the other on the PC.

Worth the buy especially if you find it on sale.

Game is crashing while changing some options or sometimes by clicking "Play" in the menu, translation for some words are wrong in my native language, animations of the zombies are ugly, not using Root Motion animation which is standard in the industry, graphics are bad even on "Ultra" settings, locomotion is kinda OK, but not be able to run normally because of the weird controls on the HTC Vive makes the Zombies outrun you and you have to shoot them while they are in you... Not worth the price.

Once you start unlocking weapons, the game get much better, its kind of like Arizona Sunshine but no puzzles to solve, just a lot of killing!! I would recommend it for $15..
