Best weapon to use on Niss in your opinion and why?
I'm wondering what other people's experiences have been and if there is a best in slot weapon, if so which and why?

Personally I like the sword and shield archetype for the survivability and daggers come second.

Go range weapons, if she gets hit she dies, she was made to make sure players learned what happends when you die in this game.

Reason is simple. I like damage.
Not Nights Edge for Daggerfall?

There aren't a lot of "wrong" answers here. I just like the simplicity of how it works and the damage buff is huge.

Night's Edge is chosen mostly because its stats align perfectly with AP/Crit Instinct first, Focus second affinity build - you have AP and Crit rating on Instinct and Mag Defense(which also partially converts to AP) and Crit Power on Focus. The ability is fine but I wouldn't say it is anything spectacular especially with AP build Niss as it is wasteful to spend the time to charge her weapon ability.

I understand that and I have nothing against Night's Edge. It's a perfectly reasonable choice. I'm just saying the weapon ability on Harvest Moon is strong enough that it's worth more to me than the small % increase in stats. It's also not as if HM doesn't have decent stats. They just aren't "ideal" on paper. The thing about AP Niss is that AP builds in general trend toward bursty playstyles. You build up your buffs/debuffs/weapon charge etc and then unleash the full combo before having a cooling off period where you're building up again. The damage boost from HM's weapon ability plays very well into this style and doesn't require particular aiming or anything. You just turn it on. Having played with some other weapons, it can feel just awful to have your big bad ability just miss for whatever reason.

I was just explaining why Night's Edge is preferred by a lot of players but I'm personally not using it as well. Still its ability is autotargeted so the fear of missing with it is not there as well :)

I'm a max AP Niss at the moment, slowly building up and still not even close to having maxed echoes, with a 2 star Harvest Moon and a 3 star Niss ... and I'm at 15,500 Ability Power right now... Running 2800-3100 Explorations - and the dash one-shots almost everything.

Get a couple innervation orbs and it will one-shot everything except the boss, but even the Ult mops that up easily.

I'm having fun on AP Niss with a heavy weapon, the 3-hit combo+1 charge heavy is quick enough to get between spell combos, and some weapon-ability triggered echoes are really good. Just have to be careful not to eat too much damage during it.
