Reason is simple. I like damage.
There aren't a lot of "wrong" answers here. I just like the simplicity of how it works and the damage buff is huge.
I understand that and I have nothing against Night's Edge. It's a perfectly reasonable choice. I'm just saying the weapon ability on Harvest Moon is strong enough that it's worth more to me than the small % increase in stats. It's also not as if HM doesn't have decent stats. They just aren't "ideal" on paper. The thing about AP Niss is that AP builds in general trend toward bursty playstyles. You build up your buffs/debuffs/weapon charge etc and then unleash the full combo before having a cooling off period where you're building up again. The damage boost from HM's weapon ability plays very well into this style and doesn't require particular aiming or anything. You just turn it on. Having played with some other weapons, it can feel just awful to have your big bad ability just miss for whatever reason.
Get a couple innervation orbs and it will one-shot everything except the boss, but even the Ult mops that up easily.
