None, it's just another troll who responds with nonsense...
Personally I tested the game on different Linux OS like :
(Fedora workstation, bazzite silverblue OS, garuda dragonized)
but also with windows 11.
I didn't noticed no difference in performance between Windows and Linux.
The game doesn't run properly on almost all operating systems and no matter your hardware (no matter how powerful).
So the problem is clearly Wayfinder's optimization.
I tried it on the Steam Deck and despite their patches, performance is still not optimal and hard system-wide crashes still happen when attempting to load the open-world area. Not as common as before, but these crashes still happen.
I then tried it on my gaming laptop and uh... it overheats the whole thing, forcing it to shut down, even if I turn the resolution down and lock the FPS to 30. Admittedly, it's a Dell gaming laptop and they're not the best in many ways, but this is the only game that causes it to overheat even with graphics settings turned down.
There's something in the open-world areas specifically that draws a lot of resources and whatever it is, it's essential for the game as a whole since they never addressed it. I mean, they tried to optimised the game for the Steam Deck, so they should know what this problem is and it's still there.
As for the FPS dropping in the menus - it doesn't happen on my machine and it doesn't happen on the RoG ally. The issue is clearly something hardware or system specific and not a general optimization issue and if you want them to figure it out then go to their discord, post your issue together your specs/dx diag and settings.
Even if its not a "general" optimization issue- the fact that it happens at all probably points to some deeper issue that should be addressed anyways. Least other ppl run into this when the game properly launches into 1.0.
I can confirm from the latest update that the game no longer drags the framerate to the teens whenever you open the menu. Strangely enough however, I go from 80-90FPS down to 57FPS whenever the menu is open. I'm running the game at High settings with FSR set to Ultra.
This is still a massive improvement over what happened before and I'm hoping the game is alot more playable the next time I sit down and give it a proper shot.
