Is the single player fun, and is the story good?🤔

I did searches but only could see threads on refunds for people who bought it back when it was an mmo.

I dont want a mmo, just a good narrative, or campaign driven, single player game.

Is it worth buying, for the above, now in the state its in EA?

I wouldn't say the story's good at all. The writing's been a snooze for the 5h I played so far. If you have high standards for writing and storytelling, this ain't it. This game's plagued with generic plot devices, one-dimensional forgettable characters, and dialogue that goes on for way longer than it needs to.

Much like other single player games where the story is not the main focus, I'd recommend playing Wayfinder for the gameplay loop.

All of the game is single player and it can be fun if you like that style of combat. The story is good but it can be presented better. It is a aRPG style story where the focus is on world building and the characters that you meet and not on the main character.

The named characters you play do get some progression, mostly by finding their memories and seeing bits and pieces of their history. The PCs' bespoke story arc is putting themselves back together.

The story is nonsense and some of the characters are cringe edgelords beyond belief but the game play is good

Nah, the PCs don't really have a story arc. You incidentally could collect the memories but they do not really reveal anything significant about the characters.

Story so far is "so, there was that evil corruption and you fought to save us, but you kinda died, and then you kinda came back with some uncanny powers. Now save us again pretty please".

The gameplay, however, is awesome :D
