And Worse. They dont Say so on the Shop Page and the Subscription needs to be Made over their Website and over some Dubious Unknown Payment Provider I never heard off.
I Figure that quite alot of People will not be getting a New Subscription after their Free Month has Run out.
14,29 Dollars was the Last Price I saw.
I dont know if they Autodebit.
I wobt give Payment Data to a Provider I dont trust.
Nobody knows if this is Good or Bad unless You give some Context.
The Sub was Introduced in December 2023.
However with some Delays depending on the Player actually Logging in etc.
So most Subs are Running out Somewhere in this Month. (January 2024)
However. For most of the Month People still had their Free Sub.
Given some Data Points.
We had on Average 1100-1200 Players Online over Summer 2023 with Peaks reaching into the lower 2000s or close to 2000.
When it became Clear to the Community that SV would be Forcing the Subscription Idea Through this Number in Fall 2023 started Dropping to about 900 Players Online with Peaks only going to about 1500.
Now with more and more Free Subs Running out. The Numbers are Slowly Declining Further.
We dont yet have any Useful Number for the Average Online as that needs a Larger Timeframe which we will only get by the End of February. As that will be the First Month where only Starter Pack Owners and actual Subbed Accounts are Playing.
But Peaks have already Dropped to about 1200 for the last few Days. Which Hints at the Fact that alot of Players are not going to Subscribe and thus will Stop Playing after their Free Month Runs out.
By the End of the Next Month we will know how much of the Playerbase was Lost to the Subscription Model.
And then in 4 Months when the Starter Pack Subscriptions also Run out.
We will See wether this Game has any Hope of Surviving. Or if SV Doomed it by Insisting on a non Steam Sub which Forcibly Requires Providing Payment Data to an unknown Payment Provider Service and SV itself.
Anyway, if my subscription JUST ended, I have to imagine plenty more just did or are about to as well. I don't plan to subscribe right now either.
And from what I can see there is no easy cancel option..
in Canadian dollars its 20$ and at the end of the year that would be 240$ after ten years it would be 2400$
i don't feel like this game is worth that price tag. at least not to me.
realistically and i don't mean this as an insult. but 4.99 Canadian i could maybe do. so like 2.99 USD. i feel like that is the fair value of a subscription after paying the box price for this early access MMO. and yeah its still early access in my opinion too.
to the gentlemen who asked if pay pal is trust worthy. of course it is not.
they freeze peoples accounts according to there political views. What happened to good old master card and visa? why do i have to pay a middleman to steal my money?
in short subscription fees are a thing of the past and we are moving in a frugal economy where people want value for every cent they spend. that was my thinking and opinion. i know it does not apply to everyone.
