Mortal Online 2

Dark and Darker
I think MO2 should inspire from Dark and Darker (a multiplayer FPS currently in test on Steam) as for PVE, combat, even for style (nice RPG illustrations etc etc).
Otherwise I'm afraid MO2 might only down spiral from current point which somehow
would be sad.
Some stuff in MO2 like single server, large (but empty) map, no loading time while in game, multiple races, character creation and maybe crafting to some extent are good... but that's it.
Also the PC specs currently needed for MO2 is way too high for my potato PC / average guy... I would trade those fancy realistic graphics anytime for something more "low poly" , more cartoonish graphics like in "Dark and Darker" if it could mean higher performance and overall better gameplay (my ping is not an issue as an EU player).
And no... I don't need nor want to see detailed digestive system of my horse in 3D... please remove those.. lol
Last thing... keeping the sub model would just be a quick path to failure for MO2... worst idea ever to my opinion.

Dark and Darker is a cool game. Both games should keep going their separate ways. MO2 already inspired by Rust a lot.

Dark and Darker is more of a dungeon crawler experience.

I love how people cry the genre of open full loot pvp is dying but we keep getting more and more games to the already existing big roaster of those games.

Marauders, The Day Before and now this.

All the while we have Tarkov, Rust (+ million of rust clones like Conan), DayZ and plenty of open PvP games without full loot like RDO and GTAO

Im not complaining about full loot pvp...

Tf are you talking about ? what has this russian crap of Tarkov or Rust has to do with this ?

MO2 is "broken" while Dark ans Darker seems to "get it right" as for combat, PVE, etc etc.

Also... MO2 has a daily average of 1000 players.. while Dark and Darker had around 100.000 players daily during their last play test.. both being full loot "hardcore" FPS games.

Um? Play Dark and Darker and do not come back? Is that what you want to hear? MO players are doing just fine.

Rust is made by a British studios which Facepunch Studios. And even if Rust was also a Russian made game, I do not see how the developer being from Russia changes the perception of the game. Sure, many Russians play Rust too. That is just nationalistic crap from you.

Stalker was made in Ukraine and it has largely similar atmosphere to Tarkov but Tarkov offers the endless online experience and that is why people love it. Both games are great games and I do not see why you have to call them crap. They share the same themes of cheeki breeki.

People all over the world love those themes and fans of Stalker are also fans of Tarkov and vice versa
rofl u made my day comparing such crap as tarkov to stalker XD

Uh ? MO2 is (mostly) a melee and heroic fantaisy FPS game and Dark and Darker is using same settings.
One is a (so called lol) MMO while the other (for now at least..) is a dungeon crawler.
Tarkov, Rust etc are shooter games mostly in post nuclear war settings.
Both genre can't be compared.

Hate to say it but Dark and Darker has all the stuff i sought after in Mortal Online. Maybe MO2 can catch up one day.

A few things id like to see improved in MO2 is stuff like Torches in offhand, a light spell for magic and other dungeon crawling improvments.

I am surprised.

You are saying because some people consider a game bad other should not be able to like them?

Cyberpunk for example

What about actual jank games like majority of sim games for instance Goat Simulator. Because it is not much of an actual game people are not allowed to like it?

Mortal 2 is a great game. It has flaws but they are not nearly as glaring as many will have you believe.

In fact, Mortal 2 is a breath of fresh air and is definitely worth it. I would rather play games of Mortal 2 quality so long as they have a soul which i have been doing, rather than playing soulless games that are fully 100% polished like Final Fantasy

Somehow I envy you... lol. It seems to me you can still be "entertained" by a mid MMORPG like a kid.
Maybe your imagination is filling the gap between a good game and the reality... I don't know.

As for me Ill just keep waiting for this really good but non existent yet MMORPG to play with.. aha :steamhappy:

Haha yes. I do like to imagine things. But.

There is no other game like this game. I mean sure there is. There are 2 versions of Darkfall that were bought from original developers. There is MO 1. But in all honesty, this one is the most modern up to date game like this there is.

I could play UO still. It is free.

But then Mortal 2 is a mixture of so many games into this cool concoction. I see games like Mordhau and Chiv here, I see Rust and a little bit from UO even though I prefer to say in general that MO2 is nothing like UO. Skill system is taken from UO. Gameplay is different.

I don't know. I am always okay when it comes to games being a little rough.

I still play Gothic 2 and its countless mods. By today's standards Gothic 2 or even Piranha Bytes Elex are bad outdated games. But I am having fun.

I had no big issues with Skyrim and Cyberbug on release.

So to me those issues most people talk about in MO2 are not a big deal. They exist but I have played so many bugged games that received no patches in 2000s because they were on disc only and you couldn't get the patches as easily as now, I learned to fix bugs and the game by playing it cleverly, reloading saves etc or avoiding bugged areas and doing something that would revert the game logic to fix the bug/glitch.

Mortal 2 is not as bad as those 2000s games. And Mortal 2 is the only game with such vast open world that allows me to kill anyone I want, and take them for all they have, in Medieval Fantasy setting akin to Game of Thrones.

Before Mortal 2 I spent a few k hours in Fallout 76 and Red Dead Online. Mainly doing the same things I do in Mortal 2. But in Fallout 76 PvP is consent based but many people have it on, and you can partially loot them for resources and nuke their camp. And in RDO there is always on PvP and almost no ways people can stop you from killing them.

I mean in RDO people can literally parley with you for 10 minutes and you can just take a bounty on them and keep fighting. Though RDO had no looting but you could blow up moonshine and trader wagons and it would cost people a penny.

And before that I played 3k hours on Counter Strike Source. A big portion of that was in a community where we played on Jail Break server. Where you are forced to socialize on microphone. Prisoners follow Guards commands and try to stay alive or rebel.

So I enjoy games with social aspects like MO2 and also games with forced PvP with high stakes.

I can only agree about unique fun of full loot pvp genre.. killing people, stealing people, lock picking house etc, especialy if its possible to pvp solo.
I played myself UO back the days... before 2000 lol... and it was tons of fun.
I retried UO a bit here and there from time to time.. but it has never been the same as before.
One thing I know for sure is full loot pvp MMORPG games should not be an excuse for lake of PVE content, poor combat system or be considered as "niche" only genre.

Not related but I ve played RDO on early release on PC and I found it quite good / good surprise (just played online not the story)... I have played lots of poker lol... but I missed some "true" MMORPG features... I dunno how it is now.. I have the original game not the new online version. Also it seemed to me it wasnt full loot pvp.
Maybe I should come back to it and give another try.

what MO2 is trying to do is far far more ambitious than what Dark and Darker is doing or games like New World

All pvp sandbox mmorpg are *ambitious* but in the end the developers just use it as an excuse to not add proper content. Actually for a developer its easier to just ♥♥♥♥ out a few assets and some code and call it *sandbox* instead of creating engaging gameplay. Its always the same with these sandbox mmorpgs and in this one you dont even get any sand and server capacity is laughable aswell.
what other pvp sandbox mmorpg's even exist? because as far as i'm concerned, there are none.

Yes you are right sorry i meant to say *were* as in past tense because all of them died because of the mentioned lack of content as will this game soon enough. Their ♥♥♥♥♥♥ event isnt going to attract anyone.
you realize there's no way to fund content long-term without a revenue stream, right?
