Best Companion, Best team
What do you thing that is best companion? Or chich combo is best?

I personally thing that strongest character is Alexandrite. Because her signature ability create 3 clones. And clones are companions. So combo of Herald and Companions can reset Heralds cooldown imediately very often. And with creating more and more clones is started nearly impossilbe to not proceed Herald+Companions.

This is part of my best team:

ALEXANDRITE Saboteur - HERALD COMPANIONS MONUMENT
CELESTINE Sneak - HERALD COMPANIONS MONUMENT
JUDITH Bruiser - HERALD SAGE MONUMENT

with 3 monumetns, so much resets and AP generation you just stress break and kill everybody. Judith usually use equip which make throwing grenades free action. And have 3 stress grenades in inventory.
Maybe Judith is little replaceable by other tank/crowd controller (Fedir, Ingrid).

Ingrid - Great Wind, Gambler, Reaper - Trauma Battery & Adamantine Lining
Lateef - Conjunction, Archer, Herald - Vitality Engine & Speed Suit
Eddie - Leech, Storm, Forsaken - Endless Bandolier & Electromechanical Optimizer

As a 4th:
Jianyi - Gambler, Leech, Bull - Viriditas Amulet

Ingrid & Jianyi have near infinite AP
Eddie devestates enemies with his Light 'em up, after you used Herald and Archer with Lateef
Conjunction gives chance of getting more AP from those buffs
Vitality Engine gives free buff/debuff consumables

Enemies tend to be dead before they even could get a stress break

I put the Viriditas Amulet on Eddie, so he can get extra AP from Leech. Endless Bandolier seems unnecessary with the Mother Amina upgrade that gives 30% chance of +1 AP for reload actions, which Eddie can use to get +20% crit. He also has The Sage, so he can use his Bullseye more often. And The Comet, so he can inspire himself simply by reloading, plus adding some extra chance to hit. He doesn't kill everything instantly, but after he got that +60% crit damage Power Amulet II, his Bullseye has become a real menace.

I had The Archer V on Isaac, but switched it for The Conduit II, since I almost never used it. Waiting for The Storm, since Isaac does miss a lot. (Counting on each bullet missing doing graze damage, but I don't know.) isaac also got The Waif III, for when someone has to die quickly. Like a Scion about to be hit with Bullseye.

I used Ingrid for a mission, but by that time Isaac had The Forsaken, so his default LMG attacks did a better job of knocking enemies down. Apparently he fires so many bullets that targets get dazed and then dazed again (so knocked down) in the same attack, even when he misses? Ingrid's percentage chance of extra AP is nice, but unreliable. Though I suppose The Great Wind adds even more of a chance.

Trauma Battery, The Great Winds and Ingrids passive and she pretty much always gets ap with her attack. She was quite broken and kill so many enemies during one turn. And she had insane movement range on top. :)

Conjunction and Archer and Eddie always hit with his Flush Out and you also had chances for extra AP. And even more extra AP chances with Conjunction and Herald wich also Triggered Ingrids Great Winds :)

Also Eddie had Forsaken so Dazing and knocking down enemies a lot, even more if you managed to use Flush out more than once per turn.

Herald level 5 grants +1 action point to everybody who is inspired. And with 3 ghosts you have 6 * 75% chance to reduce cooldown. And Monument's cooldown is reduced too. And with each stress break you get one more ghost. Soo there is no problem to have like 15 actions with all and you just position in the middle of opponents and just repeat Monument and Herald till everybody is stress breaked. I often end fight with 8 or more ghosts.

I must say it is so powerfull that I make some limitations to me. Like no more than 3 stress broken enemies.

I prefere to use Purnima then. Because Purnima with HERALD, COMPANIONS, CHANGELING and with Power Talisman II do incredible damage. Like 400 damage per strike when invisible.

I still haven't recruited The Alexandrite, even though they've been right there for most of the game. Been so busy keeping the houses in line. But soon, I hope.

There is no need to try play against doom clock. You can play game indefinetely. Because when any house fill his clock, special mission 'Last Standing' will shown. And after completing this mission you move clock back to last breakpoint. So no stress, just go and recruit her.

Just important, that not 2 houses get there at the same time?
xfojtik Dec 11, 2024 @ 10:16pm
if 2 houses get there the same time, then you will play two 'last stand' missions in row. and then both houses will get breakpoint resets,
I ended first game in week 65. I have 11 companions, all fully evolved.
Stupid is that 'Last stand' mission have only one map, and in end i play two standard missions and then 'Last stand', so i was bored to play this map so often.

Of course with increasing timers houses evolved, oponents have more lives and do more damage. But IMHO you evolve even faster. Of course newbies must go in action with two good alies. And even newbies must be fully or nearly fully evolved.

I am playing this game for second time. Some possibilities to make team even better:

JUDITH with HERALD COMPANIONS MONUMENT is even better then with HERALD SAGE MONUMENT. Because her shielding ability is buff. So when she does not succeed with HERALD COMPANIONS to reduce cooldowns, she have anoher chance with shield.

Purnima with HERALD, COMPANIONS, STRATEGIST is very usable too. Need to reload but still able to do 400 damage strike after reloading. Ballistic calculation is must have.

ALEXANDRITE with HERALD COMPANIONS SATYR is really good. You lost MONUMENT and possibility to stress, but movement bonus is really nice and SATYR is buff to all, so another chance to reset cooldowns.

and i use JUDITS with HERALD COMPANIONS BULL. Because BULL is really good to knock down and turn off those bastards who react on your actions.

Vitality engine is really good equip. Because it works with Thunder Bomb. And knock down annoying enemies is very often must have.

Yes and Vigor Tonic on Alexandrite is usefull too. Because for time to time you need more 3 ghosts.

Yes and ghosts will die ih 3 turns if not healed or damage reduced. So Judists shield reduce damage to ghost to half, so i often shield ghosts to stay alive longer.
Big Mad Wolf Dec 12, 2024 @ 3:54am
I mean, most enemies one shot ghosts anyway, kind of pointless to shield them?
xfojtik Dec 12, 2024 @ 4:42am
I usually kill everything in one round. Or at least 75% of oponents. Problem is with waiting new spawns from teleport. And when you have like 6 ghosts then they will de not killed all. Especially under shield - every damage is halved. And ghost usually try to hide - go in cover. Not every oponent do like 150+ damage. Ghosts have 75 lives, under shield 150 lives.
xfojtik Dec 12, 2024 @ 4:44am
Ghosts under shield do not lost 25 lifes at end of turn, loose only 12 lives.

I have foreseen this, and so I've been putting in an effort to delay the ending map for as long as possible. I'm in week 42, with Nicastro at 18/40, Marteau at 13/40, and Strum at 19/40. And I'm about to sabotage the Nicastro crossroads beacon and set her back to 7. Didn't get an option to do that to Marteau before he hit his first breakpoint, and since his third stage is a whole point more than his second, I let him have his second so I can sabotage his crossroads when he's about to hit his third breakpoint. (I plan to recruit Alexandrite after Nicastro sabotage, depending on mission options.)
