Poor performance
I tried the game but ended up refunding due to the stuttering. Some of it has been fixed sense the demo, but it seems whenever I do an action for the first time I get a stutter of some kind. Rinse and repeat for every new map. And then the fps seems to drop constantly. But the reviews don't seem to reflect that. I've got a 2080 and a Ryzen 7-something. Is it on my end? I can't imagine I should be running the game so poorly.

i have a RTX 3080 and the game struggles to keep 90fps at 1080p
given how this game's graphics look i would say the performance is really bad

It's Unity(has a tendency to eat every single resource the GPU has for seemingly no reason)

Harebrained (Battletech has never run well, even to this day)

The graphical options are a single slider.

I'll leave this here for anyone seeing this post on the fence about buying.

I have an Inspiron 16 Plus with a GeForce RTX 3060. After I turned on DLSS and set to performance I get 24 to 40 FPS and it runs HOT. Really not happy with the performance considering how the game looks.

There is a single slider, it is true.

And then right below that slider are all of the various options the slider controls, for you to adjust as you like to form your own custom setting.

I have a GTX 1080 Ti; the rest of my computer is more than 10 years old.

I started out with the default settings the game gave me (high), and my card was getting into the high 80's C, which is hotter than I'd like. I turned the settings down to a custom mix of medium and high, turning off some bells I didn't feel I needed (Bloom and Motion Blur). Now the GPU is running in the low 80's, which is fine. I have FPS locked at 60, and frankly I don't see much point to turning it higher (this isn't a multiplayer first-person shooter), but ymmv.

There are some occasional stutters or FPS dips, and vary rarely there is a longer pause, but nothing that ruins the game. The game would be better if those things didn't happen, of course, but I am still able to enjoy the game just fine around them. Again, ymmv.

I can't explain why people with newer computers and more advanced graphics cards would be getting worse performance, lower framerates, and higher temperatures than I am getting.

I had the opposite issue with a GPU not being used at all. CPU bottleneck at 1440p for a 3080ti with a 5600x. Absolutely wild stutter and lag. Running Curve Optimizer seems to have sorted it for now, as I have decent cooling, so possibly just Unity hating on Ryzen.

Sorry for my confusion; this is the Steam forum and I assumed you were using the Steam version since you are posting here. The Steam version has a variety of different options in addition to the main slider. I have no idea whether the Gamepass version is different, but of course it could be. Maybe someone on an XBox or Gamepass forum, or even the Paradox forum, would be in a better position to answer that.

I've bad performance as well, with a RTX 3080 and Ryzen 3600. Not in regards of raw FPS but in stability and stutter. Sometimes for no reason the FPS drop from capped 60 to 54 and then right back at 60. Sometime, like when executing an action, there's a huge FPS drop. It is such a high drop in FPS that even VRR can't compensate for that. It's really annoying and feels like a badly programmed game to me. I'm constantly drawn out of the game because of this.

found a fix..if your playing in 2k drop to next display res, same for 4k.. I did this all stuttering went away. I think you need to set it up like your playing 4k then in a mission change it.
