I would highly recommend you to either install your games off of your OS drive. Or put a download speed limiter on your updates and game downloads in steam settings lower than the max capacity of your drive's current transfer/read/write speed.
A good idea would be to also scan your drive for faults and check the health of your drive.
My harddrive is only a couple of years old, so i am pretty sure it isn't faulty, though i did scan the drive for faults but there wasn't any.
The weird thing is that this is the ONLY update for a game that makes my pc freeze up like this, it is actually the first time it has ever happened to me. When steam updates any other game it is fine except for Teardown, i have no idea why it is only exclusively teardown.
Also thank you for a response. I will try to download the game on another disk, if that doesn't work, i don't really know what else to do lol.
EDIT: I made it download on a different drive, it updated perfectly normally this time. Thank you! Now i can play creative mode
