(Though a free-to-play demo of like 1 short level might be a good idea, just to give people an idea of how the game will run on their system, a LOT of people are complaining about the game not running well on their computers.)

Ask her to buy the game for you instead of pleading the company to make it free for a time.
If you buy any game and it not runs well on your PC you can refund the game and you get your money back.

Aside that, I'd like to see a demo too. like 1 mission with half of the tools available and maybe explosives to check how well it runs.
(I'm pretty sure BillBoy meant it the same way, some games are f2p for a weekend before turning paid again. Great way to try em that way if you arent making a demo.

Nope, That's more than likely not gonna happen...
Game development requires money, game developers don't make money if people aren't paying to purchase the games they release on Steam (or other platforms.)
