How to unlock framerate
My fps is stuck at 60 and won't go above. I've turned off vsync and set display to borderless windowed like other threads said but nothing changes. How do I uncap it?

Now to answer your question you stated:

Now if I were to take this literally, then you don't need more than 1FPS to play a game, it is possible, too not pleasant, but possible, so why do you want more than 1FPS?
You said it yourself, mate. Because it's uncomfortable. 60 FPS is not uncomfortable.

I think there's some confusion here. The game definitely can run at 120fps.

I have been running the game at 120fps since it came out and it is very noticeable for people who are used to refresh rates over 60Hz (I have been using 85-120hz displays since 1999). If it isn't just defaulting to 120Hz, then set the vsync setting to "adaptive" or "every other frame" and see if that works. Aside from the camera being choppy when driving vehicles (due to the aforementioned 60Hz physics), it should.

However, if your graphics drivers (or even monitor driver\EDID info) are mis-reporting the available resolutions for the game then it may still be locked to 60hz\60fps. To fix this you may need to update or reinstall your video drivers (do a clean install, do *not* keep old settings). I think I had this issue when trying to force DLDSR upscaling on my system, though it works now regardless of what vsync settings I have set in-game. To be honest though, I think I actually modded my display driver to remove refresh rates lower than 120 so games would stop defaulting to those when forcing DLDSR.

You can also try setting your desktop to the resolution + refresh rate you want in the game and setting it to Windowed mode rather than fullscreen. That can help too if your system is just not allowing it to work.

So, yes, the game can run at 120fps. It is worth mentioning though that complex scenes with lots of explosions, particles and objects simply will *not* run at 120fps on any current system. There isn't a CPU out right now that won't cause your frame rate to bog down when there are thousands of voxels exploding and bouncing in a fraction of a second. This is not a bug, it's just that Teardown is doing physics simulations on a level far beyond what you see in other games.

Hope that helps.

If you answer that, you should get a clear answer to why this person might want more FPS and just to make sure your on the same page it's because it looks smoother at higher FPS.
We want more than 1 FPS because 1 FPS is hard to play with, and very uncomfortable to look at. 60 FPS looks perfectly fine, and and doesn't make the game hard to play. Once your FPS looks perfectly good, why change it?
for you personally? there is no reason to change it it's like people who play games at 30fps if they can play the game at that fps it's either because they have never/rarely experienced 60fps so they don't realise how uncomfortable 30fps is (you can also this logic with 120fps vs 60fps) or maby they just don't care and it's look perfectly good to them as you have stated about 60fps.

so lets think outside of your own personal self for a second what happens if the person in question doesn't find 60fps to be perfectly good? by your logic they change it to a higher fps or at-least try as you would probably do if you were getting 30fps or lower.

What I'm saying is that 1 FPS is basically unplayable, which is why you'd want to change it.

I don't think anyone, even those spoiled PC using brats, think that 60 FPS is uncomfortable to look at.

unfortunately for you i find 60fps uncomfortable im very used to 165fps so anything under ~120fps usually has a noticeable "choppiness" which i believe is what usually happens to most people when they use higher fps a lot it's the same when you use 60fps for a lot 30fps eventuality become uncomfortable and i know that from expierence since i went from console (30fps) to a computer with a 60hz (60fps) monitor and then got a upgrade to 165hz (165fps) monitor and this wasn't instant change this was like every 4 years i upgraded so i know the noticeable difference between 165-60-30fps.

Oh, I see, good point. But like, how do you watch videos, and play games that are limited to 60FPS and stuff when anything below 120 FPS is uncomfortable to look at?

Videos are usually motion smoothed, so they are watched well at 60fps, even on 255fps monitors. Such motion smoothing is ONLY applicable to videos, since it relies on FUTURE frames for such smoothing. As you can guess, there is no such thing as "future frames" in games. They are all now-frames and past frames. That makes games appear jittery, choppy.

something being uncomfortable does not mean it's unbearable i can play a game at 60fps and even 30fps i would really prefer not too but if i haft too well i'll just be uncomfortable.

Basically this. It is like wearing blurry glasses. I can read things just fine, but I'd prefer clear glasses any time of the day.

30 fps cannot have "no visible change" over 60 fps. Unless we're talking of interpolation. Don't tell me you're another "25th hidden frame" adept.

Most physics-based games are fps-locked. If you take games like Oblivion or Skyrim - they do the exact same thing. Why? Because physics algorithms, while being stable and performant at 60fps, will go awry and start showing strange behaviour at higher framerate.

You can "hack" yourself higher fps, and I think the dev can give you some clues on how to achieve that, but more often than not, the result gameplay you'll get will not be.. "preferable" over just keeping it at 60fps.
Creating a universal physics engine that would perform excellent at any fps would require quite talent(or quite strong hardware to run it on).

Or, you can stick with physics rate-to-framerate interpolation, which will introduce some visual issues with the object movement, but will allow you to increase your fps as much as you want, if you wish so.. Also, as far as I see, this game uses raytraced lighting, so you might not want to increase your fps for this very reason as well - it will not go as high as you expect it to go, unless you have a hardware that is ready for it(and believe me, there is not much hardware that is ready for it).
Thats literally why you need to play all gta games in 30 fps if you don't want bugs.

For what its worth my fps is not capped at 60

Come on bro, the human eye can only see at 13 fps anyways.

(If you have an nVidia or AMD GPU, have you set an FPS limiter somewhere in their respective control panels? Do you have MSI afterburner, and if so is that limiting your framerate? Do you have any other 3rd party apps you suspect can be limiting your fps?)
