Anyone else read that insane EULA?
I just thought it was weird to see one pop up for an indie game, so I gave it quick glance.

It basically just gives the author the right to take away "ownership" of the game when ever they want to. I've known for a small time now that EULA's basically tell us we don't actually own what we PAY FOR. But I just wanted to bring this one up personally for how incredibly and shamelessly scummy it is. Steam won't even allow me to open the game unless I agree.

Well, basically all games have EULAs like that, and I'm pretty sure the Steam EULA says that you don't technically own the games in your library.

afaik all steam games are sold as indefinite temp access by steam, revokeable any time. We are allowed to criticize our leaders here in America, but some other dark things do deserve getting video game access pulled.

I also find it weird how much they are for religion, banning anything that depicts religious stuff in disrepectfull way. Its kinda creepy.

Well, you don't want controversial stuff like that to be in your game.
If the media were to find about it, it'd be a PR disaster, probably.

Yeah but you can *install* physical games without the internet.
Big difference.
I (only) have several hundred *physical* DVD/CD-ROMs from many years of pc gaming/buying that (some) are DRM’d on steam - you don’t own them on steam naturally - but that I have, or can have, on my Win 10 machine.
No Internet required. Install uninstall whatever/whenever I want.
I can DosBox others.

It’s just a digital merry go round. Like EA. It’s either going to be finished or not - tough if it isn’t.

If steam disappeared tomorrow, what would you have?
Exactly. Sobering thought.
If the internet went down/hacked.
No tills at shops. No online banking, no contactless payment, not Netflix, Amazon, wages are digitally paid, no air travel

We rely on so much that is fallible, with zilch backup.
