Devs mentioned there would be a price increase a few days ago during a sale, so no problem there.

Actually, it's 10 dollars more, not double.

They've said they are going to add much more content in the future, which explains the price increase, and reflects the future content that's coming into the game. Also the price has stayed the same since early access even though the game has been heavily changed since then, which is also another reason the price of the game was increased. The bodies are still hidden!

I assumed inflation since everything is getting more expensive, and games are being released with higher minimum prices, but some other players had good points.

They said that Teardown's $20 price was it's original price when it was released on early access. At that point buildings didn't even disconnect from the world when you break all their connections, and the campaign was very incomplete.

Since then, the whole game has been optimized and quality of life features added, multiple whole maps as well as the rest of the campaign, tons of new features, new tools, I could go on.

The raising of prices is agitating but in this circumstance it makes a lot of sense considering how far the game has come.
The price was raised to increase profits.

Just noticed this too; it came off my wishlist out of principle.

Do you mean like you felt it was ethically wrong to raise the price?

Yes, I think that raising your price after the game is successful and is getting attention is ethically wrong.
So when the game gets discounted during a sale, does that mean the developer is morally virtuous?

As opposed to being immorally virtuous.
