Teardown suddenly crashes on launch
Not completely sure what changed, but a couple of weeks ago, the game was working just fine. Hell, it was working just fine even since back when it was in Early Access. Now, whenever I fire it up, it starts to launch, I get a white screen for barely about a second, and it crashes.

I have attempted all of the usual troubleshooting basics including verifying cache, uninstalling and reinstalling, moving to other storage, running in compatibility mode, tweaking the settings...what have you. The log also seemed to be launching the game at a weird resolution, so I attempted to use Steam options to force different resolutions and windowed mode...this has made no difference. Thinking that mods I installed at one point and uninstalled may have been an issue, I tried renaming the mod folder and xml files, this has also made no difference. Thinking that it might be a C++ Redistributable issue, I've also attempted to repair the installations of all the ones I have installed. This has also made no difference.

I have attempted to run DDU and reinstall graphics drivers, no dice. I attempted to do the same and install older drivers, no difference. I saw that my chipset drivers were a little out of date, that's been updated, no changes. My BIOS and other drivers are already on the latest versions, so no changes to be made there. No new Windows Updates are available and sfc /scannow and DISM have found no issues. I attempted to disable PBO and DoCP...this has made no difference.

Any thoughts on what I have missed in my attempts at troubleshooting?

Yes, this is the entirety of the log. It just stops there.

Specs:
-Motherboard: Asus TUF Gaming X570-Pro (Wi-Fi) -CPU: Ryzen 9 5900X (PBO Enabled) -RAM: 32GB (3200MHz@14-14-14-34) -Graphics: AMD RX 7900 XTX -Storage: Samsung 990 Pro, Toshiba X300, Crucial MX500, Crucial M550, Samsung 840 EVO (x2) -OS: Windows 10 Pro (Build: 22H2)

The game previously worked on the same build, but with a Samsung 970 EVO and AMD RX Vega64 as well.

I have the exact same problem as you, detailed here:

same problem
I think i managed to get it working by going to the game directory and launching the game there as an administrator, instead of through Steam.

Browse local files ➜ Teardown.exe ➜ Right-click ➜ Run as administrator.

I appreciate it, but that's literally the second thing I tried (only after verifying the game cache and before attempting compatibility mode with older versions of Windows).
There is another fix from another user in another discussion:

I have a fix, go to %localappdata%/Teardown/ and delete fullscreen.bin if you have it.

To do this, follow the following steps:

  1. Press "Windows Key + R" at the same time.

  2. In the Run dialog that comes up, type "%localappdata%/Teardown/" without quotes.

  3. Find fulllscreen.bin and delete it if you have it.

  4. If launching it through Steam doesn't work, do the steps i mentioned before to run the game as an administrator.

Ooh, that's advice I've not seen before. Unfortunately, I don't have that file in that folder. I do appreciate it, though.

I had also attempted renaming various config files to append _old to the extension (e.g. .bin to .bin_old) to see if maybe I missed something before. And I noticed that the resolution the game launches at in the log has changed (at the time of posting, it should have been 1920x1200 and instead was 1728x1080. Currently, it should be 2560x1440 and instead is showing as 2346x1320). I had also previously tried to set launch options for opening resolution and forcing full screen off/on. It didn't help, sadly.
