Too unforgiving, not a lot of objective variety
I'm enjoying the challenges this game presents but sometimes the time limit is just way too unforgiving. Apparently the "Fine Arts" level actually requires you to abuse physics glitches, and even then you just barely manage to complete all objectives in time. That doesn't seem fun or fair.

I just think it would be nice to either have a difficulty option that increases/decreases the timer, or just add more variety in the objectives instead of just stealing stuff and getting away in time.

How many optional objectives you complete IS the difficulty slider. :D

I get that people want to do more optional objectives to unlock and upgrade all the tools faster, but you don't need 100% completion to max all upgrades, and you don't need max upgrades to begin with. Pipe bombs are a waste of money, I barely used the rocket launcher, all you really need is shotgun, planks, a few bombs and some pistol.

If that were true, then completing the main objectives without bothering with the optional ones wouldn't be that difficult. I stopped bothering with the optional objectives because of how brutal the levels can be. Just giving an option to increase the time you're given by even 10-15 seconds would be nice.

There does become a variety once you factor in floods, gunships, lightning explosions, and running for your life. If you haven't encountered these yet, you're not far along in the game and haven't had a chance to be surprised by the game's curveballs.

I mean I played Pathologic 2 on it's intended difficulty, and I know how hard things can be.
But I agree with y'all, an easy, medium, Intended difficulty. Option should be there, something like +15 seconds +30 seconds. Maybe even a slider. I mean it's a singleplayer game who cares if it takes you 20 minutes to complete the map. But i'm sure all of this is going to come into play in the future, none of this takes the spotlight as it currently stands.

I shamefully admit I bumped my timer up to two minutes. I still aim for one minute completions, and usually retry until I achieve that - but not always.

I'm finding the lack of destructible voxel Rhianna skulls to be a big drawback for me, personally, and prison computers struggle to run the game at a consistent frame rate. Still loving the game though, reminds me of moms house.

did them all without cheating, at first if i couldnt get the optional ones i just concentrated on the ones i needed to pass the level, then went back to them after i completed the game, fine arts and the steal the cars one were the hardest they took a lot of planning but thats the whole point of the game, its a good feeling when all your hard work finally pays off

In what sense do you have to abuse the physics to beat that level? I managed it just by planning, starting from the top, leaving a car in the right place, etc.

I'd say the amount of time you allow yourself for setup is the difficulty slider. More or less, anything is possible with enough time. That said, knocking a mission out in 10-15 minutes can be crazy. Watching a video showing how to do a mission can also be an effective cheat for those that decide that a mission is impossible.

I actually hate the pipe bombs in this game. They're too slippery, the throw is off center, and they bounce around too much. They're only useful in smaller rooms with explosives in it.
