Why is this Game so Overrated?
Seriously, not complaining, I'm actually curious. From what I've played this is what I understand.

- Meh graphics
- Meh performance
- Unrealistic physics
- Break things and that's it

Is it doing good for reviews because people are having a bad year and need something for their stress or something?.....

The developer already stated they will most likely not be adding structural integrity. This is a complete flaw of the physics (which is why I bought it in the first place) A build can be held up by one single brick, it makes no sense and completely ruins the whole experience I was looking for.
You can either have realistic physics simulation or you can have performance, you can't have both.

That's because you only played the first mission i'm sure. But honestly don't feel like typing all day. You're looking at the surface however.

To make things somewhat simple:

The Physics And the Innovation. Potential aswell as using Voxels means that modding and community made content can grow very large. The basic gameplay of Teardown is very simplistic however it's intended to be that way atm

Some people just bought the game to screw around in sandbox mode blowing up buildings and messing around. Some bought it for it's campaign with it's various challanges.

I personally bought this game because its been many years since something with this advancement of tech has released. Game's like Noita i love to play because of their unique improvements on either gameplay or simulation. BeamNG is another one of my absolute favorites because of its soft body vehicle simulation ive put hunderds of hours in it and ive been playing it since 2013

Heck take Space Engine another project that simulates billions of galaxies, stars, planets, everything its been in development since 2005 by 1 man and its been free until mid-2019 when it launched on steam.

For me What dennis has done with his engine "is" very impressive. This is a very small team with only a few devs but he managed to build his own ray-tracing and his own voxel physics engine in just a few years time. Not everything is for everyone as ive said but alot of people will and do love game's like this that push away the bland AAA game tropes.

I plan to follow with this game's development until its finished the core potential and concept is engaging enough for me as is and i look forward for the future.
It's not an advancement though. Even Red Faction Guerrilla has more realistic physics and buildings will fall over unlike this game where 1 inch of connected material can hold up 100 million tons of weight.

This simply isn't better destruction than some other games have had and it's not better for any of the things you stated than other games are. This is a horrible game if you 'just want to go blow things up' due to how poorly things actually blow up.
Different game engines and ways of doing destruction. Don't apply the "but X game could do this" logic here.

Red faction didn't have the same level of destruction and most certainly did not have realistic physics.

Exactly. I'm already starting to get pissed off from these people expecting more than they should have from Teardown despite the dev stating what the game is, and the limitations are.

Doesnt matter, what someone randomly thinks because of their own bias and misplaced understanding is what they will argue till their death was actually the whole point(otherwise you're invalidating their entire experience). It's like if someone took the "we're putting XXX in every M&M" meme seriously and yelled at M&Ms for false advertising.

Pretty much unfortunately. That's how we humans work lol
You are complaing about an EA, on the first day of release, and obviously didn't play further then the first mission. Its a pretty fun thief game. I have enjoyed everything about this game, it needs work, it crashes sometimes, and it lags when you do a lot of stuff, but I hope it gets more omptimized, and I am really excited for when workshop opens up.
Clearly you didn't know what you were purchasing.

This game is about its in depth physics simulation. This is a very broad spectrum. First being the light. Most of the light in the game is ray traced. Meaning its very accurate, and doesn't require an RTX card. The engine also has a very optimized physics simulator. Meaning that objects, and fluids act like the real thing. Most people gloss over the fluid simulation, but its fantastic. Never before has there been a game that simulates the motion of smoke, fire and even foam like Teardown. The reason that structural integrity is not a part of the game is because it would be much to unoptimized for today's hardware and would require an engine rewrite. Somethings are simply too much, even for modern tech.

Furthermore, this game is quite in depth gameplay wise, despite being early access. There is a pretty detailed story to the game. As you progress, you will unlock more weapons and tools to use. It seems that you were not aware of this, as you judged the game from the starting tool. Because yes, the starting tools get boring. But the game does a really great job of keeping your attention by adding new and unique tools for you to use. There is also a pleasant looting aspect. Once in a while, you will come across a valuable item, that you can steal. You will get rewarded for this, and can upgrade your tools.

The mere fact that you had the intrigue to buy the game, means that you are interested in it. You probably just aren't satisfied with anything. Perhaps you don't get laid enough?
To be fair, you need a very high IQ to...
Because its fun ..... thats why people like it so much xD
Why is this game $20, it should be 10 to 15 to start off with, then increase over the period of progression lol
What pulled me in was the fact that I have pondered a game like this for a while. Like this meaning voxels that let me see inside things. I also appreciate how the devs have taken care to model the levels with thorough details like power distribution and "making sense in their layout". The places feel real.

I also enjoy breaking stuff -- the game is like bubble-wrap with extra missions.
I hate stupid people. I'm 40ish and physics simulators have always had a appeal. You should play small physics simulators of the 90s or early 2000s. You literally got something look one tall building or maybe a few walls and could shoot balls at them. That was it... that was the game. So this in comparison is amazing.

If you don't get it, then its not for you. Physics games aren't exactly a massive appeal. Probably because they require beefy systems and can be buggy. But for me I would do anything for one.

Same, while it's a shame that there is no proper integrity simulation (and it makes sense why not, it'd be extremely performance intensive) I just love physics games in general.

Streamers and Jewtube, look no further... Among Us is the proof you need.
Only 3k are playing right now it's been blown out of proportion, there's not enough gameplay for the price they're asking for, watch them play 10 hours and uninstall it.
But the game just came out. More content will come. How many games have content later? Many. Look at No Mans Sky. They ave given endless updates with stuff.
