And for the record, unlike with ray tracing, I don't think that there is going to be much more hardware support for voxels any time soon. So, every generation of GPU only will add some slight performance increase. Without actual hardware support, running stuff on the GPU is almost like running stuff on the CPU. It's just on the GPU you got more threads. That's why my GTX 1080ti is a TOTAL suck with ray tracing in Quake 2 RTX. Needing a ~640p resolution with low quality to reach 60FPS with the mighty 1080ti is not even 'stomping it into the ground'. It's more like 'kicking it all the way down tot the planet's core.'. Keeping things 'indie grade' can help with a voxel engine. :)
In general, the cloud way could induce money, though. Google may be willing to pay-up for a timed exclusive?! The only problem of course is that the timed exclusive way is pro-tech but anti-consumer. Leaving the multiplayer-made-possible aspect aside. The consumer would benefit in the long run though: Obviously a game can't run without its technology so it may be worth investing into it first. However, the more you develop for the cloud, the more you depend on it, too. This will cut you off from the rest of the game market. Cloud game streaming just started, it's small, too, for now.
But "multiplayer can be made possible". That's my whole point. :)
What about split-screen co-op?
You are always at the hub when you are not doing missions. I'm don't know how unlocks work if there are any, but I figure vehicles etc., would appear in the hub once you started or completed a mission where those vehicles are encountered.
