Necrophoria has DAEMON X MACHINA

For all of you Armored Core veterans

Besides this game, what else has kept that itch scratched since the souls series took over?

I've sadly become a degenerate and play Super Mecha Champions more often than I'd like to admit lol. Also ZoE is always a classic to return to.

Anyways, what mech games have you found on steam that you highly recommend?

MASS builder is pretty fun.

Mech Warrior 5 could also be a solid entry (havent played it yet)

Its still a niche genre. Somethimes hard to find a mech game that scratches that itch.

Wouldn't go into it expecting it to be like Armored Core as there is no customization to speak of. I would also treat it a bit more like Ace Combat than anything but still, has some challenging fights.

Although I enjoy mechwarrior for what it is, I could never appreciate it like I did AC or really any japanese mecha game. They feel more like tank simulators (which you could argue they are really just tanks with legs). Also, here's another game I forgot to mention.

Legit, Armored Core is the EXACT reason I found DxM... I miss the PS2 Era, and am sitting here looking at my old AC: MoA for PS1 right now...

Tried Project Nimbus, but it just didn't feel the same... I'll give DxM credit... it has A LOT of love letters to AC... Mission Names, Weapons and Armor Parts designs and names, I mean, COME ON, "Nine Ball"? "Murakumo" and look at some of the multi-missile launchers and head parts... Come on FromSoftware, GIVE US BACK OUR ARMORED CORE!!!!

one day.. when they get tired of the whole souls borne nonsense we will get our armored core back.

Personally I feel that Bloodborne needs a port :P. But that is no reason for them to not make another AC! But sadly I think they are just concerned that they won't make as much money as the Souls series did for them. . . Due to "Western appeal". . . I just hope that by western appeal we dont get more tanks with legs games. . . yeah I am looking at you mechwarrior.

Nothing, I've been out of luck. I've decided to stick with AC 1, 2, and 3 on PS1 and 2 until such time that a worthwhile AC game releases. Tried M.A.S.S. Builder, didn't like the camera controls; Tried this game, didn't like the controls.

For now, I've given up on any new AC-like games.

Get it as soon as you can! Just don't expect OG Armored Core to the T. The game is such an amazing love letter to the series, but lacks the funding of From Software. Appreciate it as an indie game, with big studio names, like Bloodstained.

I'd say it's amazing for newcomers to the mecha genre, but the vets may need to come into it with lower expectations. We were spoiled so much by Armored Core, and then took it for granted D':
