There's a bit of camera lag when you're controlling the human form for some reason, but you dont have to do that too often.
I'd say it's worth it on sale. Maybe at 20-30 dollars of your regional equivalent.
From what I understand the most players they can support on the same map is 4. I've been only matched up with locals so far so there isn't much lag.
This is definitely one of the better mech game with good movement controls in the genre.
This person doesn't understand what raw input is. The game does have mouse sensitivity inconsistencies: https://youtu.be/0BfOtoF0_HY
But you can add attachments to customize your weapons and armor to better fill certain roles. The game has more customization of weapons than AC, where you couldn't modify your weapons performance at all last I checked. Right about the legs, but exactly what gameplay difference would that make when all 90% of the movement is boost anyway?
In short, its all cosmetics customization that is weaker, which I totally agree, especially with colors and decals.
However, Weapons and Parts come with 1-3 attachment slots which modify weapon/mecha performance. Minus the functionality of quad/hover legs, which all the legs work like hover legs anyway, the game has better customization on the gameplay side of things
Watch a gameplay vid, see them swap between four different equipable weapons, while still having a shoulder/back weapon and an auxillary weapon/support and realize you can modify all of those with "attachments" that drop in mission/come in gear you salvage.
As someone who played ever AC from 1 to 4A, i'm personally having a blast and can see all the nods in the game and story to AC.
Also different legs allowed different benefits, like using back weapons while moving or faster movement over water. Oversimplifying everything by "u dash anyway" doesn't change the fact.
Also radar parts is not a thing.
Built-in-arms weapons is not a thing.
Heating mechanic is not a thing.
Booster parts is not a thing.
A number of internal parts are now cooked in respective armor parts and processor.
On the flip side you can customize your pilot, and it's very cool, but it doesn't excuse simplified mech customization.
I also like this game very much, and as I said in my review it's not a bad game. It's just smaller one and we should be honest and acknowledge that it doesn't have the level of AC customization.
unfortunately seems like attachment is pretty much tuning
there are passives on parts but not to the point where it allows you to do different things than what you could and could not be doing prior
there are weapon arms like Gun Arms, but I am not sure on their effectiveness because currently running melee build
heating mechanic is sort of a thing where overheat due to flamethrower or heated up rooms but that only impedes your boost, as in you cannot use it
not too sure about radar but it is pretty much useless in exploration because enemies pop up in the next room after you cleared the current one (and is RNG)
yeah booster parts are part of your body so you can't change that, you can only add additional verniers through aux part but you're pretty much choosing between that, ammo reserves, coolant tanks (for boost), grenades of varying types and effects, etc.
The studio for MWO stopped working on the game for 2+ years with no updates or content to work on MW5 and then proceeded to take all the money from MWO to fund MW5 and the MWO community got nothing. MW5 was then promised to be a replacement for MWO then they backed on it and said it was more of a single player experience. Even tho the MWO community wants a more MW5 expierience.
