Maybe it's more disorienting on controller, but I know exactly where I will end up being after blinking. You can also chain-blink of sorts, zipping all over the place if you need to reach certain points fast, like ammo drops or healing pods.
My only complaint is that you only use it through double tap, I would rather have separate button for it, but otherwise it's great.
May I ask how you find useful blinking with them? I haven't gotten it yet mainly because I'm hearing people blinking too much by mistake, and secondly because I don't like the clipping with the hands.
Like giant laser beam from Gunfort or Acid melee combo from Zeruch. Double blink sideways is usually enough to save you from those. I mean if you're using ultra fast light mech, you can just dodge normally. Probably.
As for using it by mistake, it happens to me as well, because double tap is garbage gameplay design and there should be separate button for it.
You can blink into red area wall and fail mission permanently, or blink right into super attack and die.
In short take blink if you're using slow mech or medium speed.
I have yet to fight zeruch because I'm getting bored to death against nightmare omega (damn rng drops) which is one of the worst ever designed boss to date. As for gunfort omega, I'm equipped with the nightmare forward boosters which are fast as hell to usually get away from ugly situations, albeit blink could come in handy, I'll have to test firsthand.
I also hate those damn red zones, hated them on metal wolf chaos, and hate them here.
Which means if you're speedy boi it's easy to get into area wall, another reason to not take it for fast mechs.
With slow fat robot it's much easier to manage since it's short, meaning I can blink sideways with D,D, and then immediately blink diagonally with WD,WD basically circling enemy and shoot them in the back, if there is weak spot or something.
With fast mech I will end up on the other side of the arena.
I feel you for the outer look, I ended up ignoring most abilities since there is no salvation for head and body implants look wise (the flight outer body is the exception to the rule, but you can't get it if you choose the repairing arm).
PVE wise it is worth to go for a tanky/fat mecha? I'm looking to make some kind of swordman arsenal, but ended up with a crappy build because I'm a damn fashionista.
Yeah, too bad you can't not get the first head implant (the lock-on eyes one). Fighting anything on Outer mode is plain ridiculous without the lock on. Good thing the other head upgrades are not as important.
Yeah, that one is kinda vital for aiming. As you say thankfully those upgrades aren't that important, but another thing I don't like is that if you want upgrade x from an upper level, so if I want to get the left arm replacement, I'm forced to get the right arm replacement too.
Nothing really important, but it ruins the immersion and roleplay, imho.
It even worse that there's almost nobody else in the story that have the implants. Except for that one guy with cybernetic legs, off the top of my head. Even then it's not even such a big deal in that point of the story.
Well its not exactly like the game's story is anything worthwhile to mention...
I end up building mechs that look cool to me, and in areas where they underperform I compensate with Outers skills and affixes.
Actually most member have some, for example all immortal innocents share one face implant, the side-face one. Gargantua has the eye replaced one, and Painkiller has the leg one you mentioned. What infuriates me is that those characters didn't have the previous implants (Gargantua and Immortal Innocent members didn't have the flashy nerves for example).
I'm usually don't cry for modding these kinds of games, but damn, I would surely do in order switch models for those implants.
Well, I tried to to this melee oriented arsenal (uses one purple and yellow beam saber), it ended up with 17k VP and against omega bosses it sucks hard, soooo...
I like laser swords too, but some bosses have laser defenses like first stage of Zeruchroar, and some bosses are almost impossible to melee like Nightmare or Bolt.
When in doubt use bazookas, they are the universal answer for most difficult situations.
I see, thanks.
