the combat would be so amazing at 60+ fps.
But like Platinum Games has said, it'd take a fair bit of luck and would probably not be any time soon. Maybe when Switch is on it's way out of the market and Astral Chain isn't as relevant for Nintendo.
Problem is, wonderful 101 is a remaster of an old game, while astral chain is a new IP and co-founded with nintendo, so chances are verly slim.
I mean, look at bayonetta, we were able to get the first one because nintendo di not have any part on it. But the other 2? That's a different story (platinum has already said that they can't do anything about it, as nintendo has the decree to allow them on steam or not).
Platinum has always wanted to be a multiplat developer and self-publish their own IPs, but lacked the funds to do so. They had to rely on publishers to make games, and seemed to have a consistent and reliable relationship with Nintendo. They were 100% willing to fund the game to be another Switch exclusive but obviously didn't want to fund ports for other platforms. Given that Nintendo has a good working relationship with Platinum and W101 didn't really sell all that great on the Wii U, they decided to just let them self-publish if they were able to get the funds needed.
However, this is the exception not the rule, Astral Chain and Bayonetta 2 sold well passed 1 million copies and I very much doubt Nintendo plans on letting either go.
I doubt we're gonna see Bayonetta 2 or 3 on PC because without Nintendo those games wouldn't exist. Would be interesting to see Nintendo allow Bayonetta 2 to come to PC to get people excited to play Bayo 3 on Switch.
So was Wonderful 101, that's the thing.
Nintendo apparently isn't wanting to fight over the IP or didn't try to lock it down to begin with.
That why I said it'll probably not be anytime soon if it happens at all.
I feel that Wonderful 101 is a special case, since it is notorious for being a commercial flop and Nintendo clearly wasn't going to do anything with it. Astral Chain, on the other hand, is apparently Platinum's best selling title to date: there were reports that it was sold out in numerous places in Japan, and it was a best seller in the West as well. Nintendo's probably going to want to hold on to it for now, as it's another "highly regarded Switch exclusive".
