"Stupidly obvious F.E.A.R inspired game is nothing like F.E.A.R everybody who compares the two is stupid!"
What is there to do with this ballistically stupid post other than to laugh at it lol
He doesn't even own the game but he's talking about being "tricked" by people comparing this game that has many similarities to F.E.A.R, to F.E.A.R?
Yeah, I guess I don't get it.
I've seen some people say the devs took inspiration from Super Hot, but I can't make that connection at all. Super Hot kinda sucked, and the game was set in slow motion until you moved, which is nothing like this game at all. It's way more similar to F.E.A.R in almost every way.
I'll give you the benefit of the doubt though, feel free to explain in detail what the point OP was making was, I'm curious that I'm either reading too much into something or I've overlooked some key point somewhere, lol.
I agree. While I found other FEARs enjoyable to various degrees, the original is a masterpiece - if games got Oscars, FEAR deserved one. I just dove into the full 1.0 of Trepang2 and I am blown away by how much more this game is than the demo. The devs really have delivered a triple A game... minus the triple A bureaucracy that usually diminishes such.
Brilliant. A worthy and respectful successor to FEAR.
- Is this a sequel to FEAR? Please add in more features from FEAR!
"It takes some ideas from FEAR (slow motion, smart enemies, big guns, gore) and builds upon them."
Trepang 2 wears it FEAR influence on its sleeve. and there is nothing wrong with this.
There is a difference between "Inspiration" and saying its STRAIGHT up a FEAR CLONE. That's like saying that Tempest RIsing game is a Command and Conquer clone which it isn't. It is just taking inspiration. Inspiration is fine. Me and like many others are tired of the TROLLS saying its the same and it isn't and that is why OP did this thread cause they are the same way. Tired of people saying it is and it is just having Inspiration from it. PERIOD.
EDIT: Plus as OP said. only slow motion is synonymous in both. FEAR is way more tactical and slower paced than this one which makes these games NOT the same.
OP said "This game has absolutely nothing to do with FEAR except the slow motion" which is a coping mechanism and denial of reality, not half of whatever you just said. There is no reason to get upset over comparisons when the devs would be totally fine with them.
It can be their own thing and still reminiscent of F.E.A.R.
good enough?
I disagree. FEAR 2 still has one of the most impressive FPS campaigns with a lot of very memorable moments. It's just too bad the mouse acceleration makes it so awkward to control.
Even FEAR 3 has it's merits. The co-op in that game is a lot of fun.
