Why is Nostalgia Critic gone and II game's storyline changed?

We did decide on an in-universe lore reason though, and that is that the remasters take place AFTER the original games.

We reference this in a few places -- The Future Nerd is actually the Nerd from the original releases who has escaped into the Remaster to warn the Remastered Nerd of what's going on (which, true to character, just pisses him off).

If you look on the Berenstain Bears fight, there's a bloody Unicorn head sitting on a pike -- that's the boss from the first game. The bears killed (and ate) him.

Board James has gone MORE insane and murdered everyone else, hence the pile of corpses at his feet.

Etc.

There's actually a TON of these hidden throughout the game, so I don't want to spoil them all.

But yeah, now you guys know. :)

There are 2 reasons.
1) Because they no longer have the license to use Nostalgia Critic or something like that.
2) To make 2nd game's story flow better after 1st game.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

I really love the changes. No disrespect to the Nostalgia Critic, but he's not really an AVGN character, he's his own YouTube character. Just because they did some crossover things a few times, doesn't make me feel like they're officially in the same universe. I'd say Keith Apicary feels more like an AVGN universe character than the Critic, and you don't see Keith in the game. Nor is there a Bootsy in the game, even though there's some Board James stuff in the game. So the Critic just never felt right to me. My wife has watched a ton of AVGN and Board James and she didn't even know who the Nostalgia Critic was. She knew who Keith and Bootsy were, but not the Critic. So that tells me the Critic isn't an obvious AVGN I.P. - if he ever was at all. It was probably just a friendly cross promotion on YouTube for fun without ever intending to become an official partnership.

I am very happy to see that references to Doug have been removed. His actions has hurt friends of mine and that is inexcusable.

The Devs say it right there. They didn't remove him, he simply isn't in it because of the plot. The Changethechannel stuff is over. Please move on. Doug wasn't even that much involved as much as his brother and his boss was anyways.

Even though James has no problems with Doug and even appeared recently in one of his recent videos on old cartoons?

So now we're dealing with timeline shenanigans? I guess in the next one the Nerd gets recruited by the Red Lantern Corps and picks a fight with a giant robot?

Piss off you CTC Zygote...

On a side, I'm glad the removal of NC was nothing to do with that CTC rubbish, I respect you guys for not pandering to this SJW ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
