No there is not. Anything above 1920x1080 will scale to fit the screen. I play on a big 4k screen. You can try the demo and see if you find it unplayable.

From what I saw when a friend streamed it, it was all rather small. Not horribly small but still small /= I play on a 2k screen

i play on a 4k monitor and find the scale quite tolerable (i usually am scrambling to find a ui scale on my games)

I really would love UI Scaling. I have reduced the resolution to 1920x1080 but still find everything too small... for my old eyes :)
The UI would definitely need some type of scaling for players who don't have perfect vision, older players, etc. It is just way too small.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Game is very playable at 1440p for me, and in general I struggle to get games to fit with my resolution (games like CK2, stellaris, and EU4 really suck beyond 1080 without lots of changes) - I also have to wear reading glasses to use my PC - all of this saying I haven't had any trouble with reading the UI for Songs of Syx. Compared to the other games I've mentioned above (and yes even with reading glasses) Songs of Syx scales very well.

What.."lots of changes"

Dude, EU4, CK2 and Stellaris has UI scale. You change a single value in a ini file or ingame option - thats not "lots of changes" lol

Very well is the wrong word. Okay would fit it, its better than on other games but still not ideal

YEah, ok, you're right. My initial comment is incorrect.

I actually struggled with scaling them up because their UI is raster so it looks really bad, and me, being nitpicky, scaled them up by using mods.

Wheras with Songs of Syx, I've been able to use native UI size on 1440p and it looks good to me. I haven't needed to scale it up. But I couldnt even use the others UI unless scaled.

What do you mean with "UI raster" ? I only know that CK2 or EU4 has pretty low quality fonts which really sucks.

I see, we just have a different opinion then^^

More modern UI's can use vector based art (most of the web and mobile apps use vector based art for their UIs, or a mix of both) which makes scaling up look good - whereas raster based UI will only look good at the resolution it was designed at, and when scaled up it looks pixelated / gross.

So I really didnt like CK2 and EU4 scaled up (but still had to use it becuase it was unusable at 1440p with my eyesight even with glasses) and because I used mods to scale up I forgot they even had a scale-up option (hence my mistake in my initial post) however the good news is I dont even need to scale up Songs of Syx. Sorry for derailing the conversation :D

Just because you don't have any issues viewing the smaller font, doesn't mean others don't. Your vision may be different than other people's, or your equipment may be different. It's apparently a common issue, if the developer has addressed it.

Just because someone is saying it didn't affect them, doesn't mean they're saying that it doesn't affect anyone else. Obviously there is a discussion here, I'm just sharing that as someone who has struggled with UI size in other games, this one does pretty good at 1440p. I'm not saying anything else, so don't put words in my mouth and tell me that I'm saying other people aren't affected.

You stated twice in your original post that you had to use reading glasses to see your screen, which seems to imply that the size of the font is fine even for people who wear glasses. Reading glasses are just magnifying glasses on a frame and usually worn by people who don't need glasses 24/7 to see distance. I don't know if anyone else having trouble seeing the numbers wears non-reader prescription glasses, or has trouble seeing distance, but I do. Prescription glasses sharpen images, not make them bigger. If I pull my glasses away from my face even an inch, things actually look SMALLER through them. So, your experience doesn't necessarily compare to someone else's. That said, I apologize for assuming that's what you meant.
