In the game, I accidentally ended up selling the letter to some vendor, and when I went to visit the recipient of the letter to do the mission and tell him about the deaths on the farm, he didn't activate the dialogue option about it.

also a bug in that quest is, if you kill the boss without starting the dialog aka by sneaking and initiate aggro, the quest will bug out and it will not conclude, even if you kill all of them.

Квест должен автоматически проваливаться в таких случаях.
