Mercenary yea? Iirc that origin has some debuffs when you just start out.
If you read the short blurb for each Bio they give you a hint of what to expect. The Mercenary one talks about how your Mercenary team just got wiped out and you're the only survivor.
Sadly nothing else unique comes from the Origins as far as I can tell
When I chose Ronin origin, ngl I was kinda hoping those samurai/ninja at ronin camp to acknowledge my origin or something.. at least have something like "welcome fellow southerners, here's your starter kit" but doing the whole quest there did reward me well. Plus I can teach few of my fake ninja recruits with the scroll I got xD
Correct me if i'm wrong but dont you need Katanas to use the Ronin skills? That means you can't get a better Katana til you make your way to the Kiren Camp and that can be a rough trip early on.
But Mercenary gives you decent enough armor and weapons to start, and it wont take long to heal the broken ribs. Although to be fair Adventurer does the same thing, without the broken Ribs. lol
And Gifted saves you the trouble of Going to the Wildmage Tower to unlock Magic.
