More detailed instructions on save file edits and save file location can be found above, you can use ctrl+f to search the file for what you want which is "persuade" the first one you find going from the top of the text should be your main character - you can verify this a couple ways but make sure the value matches your in-game skill levell.
There seems to be two entries for persuade that define the skill level. something like "bspersuade" and just "persuade" with a number that corresponds to your current skill level. bspersuade is something like your inherent persuade level before bonuses I think it starts at 0 or may show 1 or 2 depending on if you read the book for persuade or not for e.g. You can edit both to be sure.
If your "inherent" persuade level is 5 and you have a bonus of 2 your in game level will be 7.
