how to learn alchimy

I play a light mage. I have 0 alchimy skill at character creation. All the recipes that I can learn ask 1 skill.

I think you get some starting recipes. Then you just have to make those until the skill goes up.

I'm REALLY not liking the new Level Up mechanic. Previously you just spent your points. Now they just made it extra grindy and repetitive, while also slamming you with crippling weight penalties if you want to gather the crafting materials you have to horde in order to grind your crafting skills.

I like the Kenshi leveling aspect of skills in theory, but since the game wasn't built with that in mind from the ground up, I don't think it's going to work out long term. Will finally dive in this weekend and give it a shot.

I think there must be scroll somewhere for getting alchemy to level 1, like the blacksmithing one you get from the basement of blacksmith dude.
