But yeah. And unlike monk skill, and magic . Spirit magic can be used by everyone.
There is also necromancy class in the swamp via a quest .
That sounds like it's a bug, but for once it's a GOOD bug.
Which probably means they're going to SPRINT to patch that, while all the crappy bugs go on the backburner. lol. Monk used to be usable by everyone. And if you do it through save editing, you can still give it to non-mages and it works fine. I THINK that Monk is still intended for everyone, and only mages being able to learn it is another bug.
I think there are 3 chars that has magic that you can hire though .big you want full party . But 1 is a guy
The only companions I know that have Magic is Pheobe, Fiorella, and the Elf Dude from the wildmages.
I always get Phoebe. I usually choose Martina over Fiorella, but I wish there was a way to recruit both. And I have not yet gotten my Wildmage Rep high enough to recruit the Elf guy.
Very easy to get rep with wildmages. just take all the (kill this group quests) directly from Brea and the tower....
Necromancy tome is in Miasma swamp south of izziel temple. Just a questline from a guy in a shed in middle of the zone.
Its very neet - it has 3 summons in 1 skilltree
Oh I remember that quest. I destroyed the stone. I'm a good guy at heart. lol. After that the Necromancer wouldn't work with me anymore. So i murdered him.
Which was a completely valid good guy move. He wouldn't let the Elf guy's ghost rest in peace, and he was keeping his daughter trapped in a state worse than death.
I was wondering if he would have taught me necromancy, but figured if he would I could probably loot the book from his corpse. Since he didn't have one on his body I figured it must not be available.
Thats him :)
Well you can take the stone and send the Elf to the afterlife. And the poor necromancer guy just tries to help his daugther so its kinda good . hehe... but you can solve the "daugther problem" after he gives you the book i think.
Sucks when the evil rewards are always better though :(
I sympathize with the Necromancer and if he would have been open to a new deal I would have signed up to try and help him, help his daughter, and help the ghost he was keeping prisoner(The guy did try to rob him afterall, so he's not COMPLETELY innocent).
But I wasn't willing to screw over a bunch of other innocent spirits to do it.Plus I was kinda hoping the elf lady would be a companion lol. Instead all i got was her staff and the ingredient to craft a powerful defensive necklace. Those were cool too though. Though the necklace is mostly elemental protection and few enemies do elemental damage
Yeah I bought it from her(Phyllis), but the fact you can steal or buy this from her is what made me think that I could kill the Necromancer and get his too. lol
Fun fact, if for some reason you screw things up with Phyllis, you can also get the Spirit Magic book from magnolia(the witch in Grey Hills) if you kill Patton for her and bring her back her necklace. The Necklace is good but there are better ones so I gave it back.
Mind you, Magnolia's not a good guy exactly but neither was Patton. Heck, you could easily end up killing him by accident just because his gang might attack you for mouthing off lol
But that is all the classes so far right? - bard necro and spirit wasnt in blackthorn i believe... And we are still missing the shapeshifter
There's also Yangyuan Sword which is based on Chinese Swordplay, but you have to choose between that and Battle Monk.
There's also one based on Chinese Spears. It's in Blackthorn Arena, but only one Hero NPC has it. I forgot the name. You could not teach it to any of your own gladiators without Save Editing.
The Spear one is actually in this game too, but again...only through save editing. And if you add it in, the name is bugged and it will be named the same as Yan Sword. I experiment with stuff like that sometimes but never long term.Eventually I revert back to a less "compromised" save. This game is glitchy enough as it is without intentionally throwing curveballs like that into the mix longterm. lol
It does have some cool, slick looking spear moves. Which just makes it weird why they went to all the trouble of creating this class, only to have it so limited in Blackthorn and ("Officially")non-existent in Reckoning. Maybe it's intended for some future DLC or something. But I never like it when content already in a game is released as DLC.
