Only thing im aware of is your space suit upgrades which increases it's HP and also resistance to heat electricity and cold damage
Also speaking about suit I would prefer some frame over visor instead of HP since 2nd most often cause of death after decompression going south is whacking your face with whatever you were salvaging.
The problem is, that messing around with coolant containers is risky af too and has a high chance to cause other problems. So best way to deal with fire is, to not cause any fire at all.
And the only action where you can't avoid it are Atlas Engines. But they are pretty easy with some practice, since you have more time then you think. Just make sure to get some Suit Fire Protection upgrades.
But I agree that such a tool would be a nice addition. Sadly this won't ever happen since development of this game has finished for now. Dev Team is working on a different game, so don't expect any DLC's or updates.
My copium is that they put some finishing touches and maybe add more ships to this game after Homeworld 3 is done.
Otherwise this game feels only 90% done. They had everything worked out to make a game and then did the bare minimum with it.
Avoiding problems isn't any fun at all for me. I wanna solve problems.
At the moment the game is just a logic puzzle on how to disassemble a ship without making a mistake. And if you make a mistake you are best off scrapping what you can for the rest of the ship and then moving on to the next ship, since there is no penalty for doing that at all.
Makes me wonder everytime when a dev team doesn't allow or support modding on their games. In my opinion this is always a win win situation.
Especially for creative games like this one, just imagine how many cool ship designs meanwhile could exist? And new/different tools, new Hazards. Heck even the missing "Skip" Dialogue button would be there by now I guess.
