Similar games
Since it's pretty clear that HS:S won't be getting any DLC or updates, I'm curious as to whether there's similar games out there. I've found myself enjoying this game pretty thoroughly, but it's got limits to its replay value.

I kind of stumbled into this one as a lark and since I enjoyed it so much I'm curious what other games folks would suggest to scratch the itch I didn't know I had.

Not about spaceships, but I've also enjoyed very much a game called 'Viscera Cleanup Detail'. It is similar in also being a "zen like" game, where you get a seemingly boring task (clean a map) but with many approaches (burn everything with a laser, clean carefully, just make an even bigger mess...). It is relaxing to play and feels very rewarding after doing a good job, just like this game; heck you even get a radio in each level to play some tunes.

And just as an additive, it has several collectibles and easter eggs referencing different movies, videogames and books, like for example Matrix, Alien, Duke Nukem...

Starbase has a ship deconstruction mode that's very similar... hidden inside of an empty space exploration PVP MMO.

I’m also looking for games similar to shipbreaker but here are some suggestions.

ΔV: Rings of Saturn
This is a game about being an asteroid miner/salvager around the rings of Saturn. It’s 2d but has great physics and the same feel. You’re basically a Belter.

Stationeers
It’s like space engineers but more complex and with an emphasis on survival and thriving in harsh environments. It can be very relaxing too. Huge learning curve.

Outer Wilds
This is a space exploration/mystery game. You don’t build or destroy in it but there are lots of physics like mechanics. It has lots of zen like moments and the storyline is amazing. It’s also fairly sandbox like within its own story so you have plenty of room to experiment.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say "PowerWash Simulator".

Sure, it's not in space and it's not breaking down spaceships, but it has the same chill vibe of working meticulously through a cleanup task and has this way of putting you in the same mental state.

Kerbal would be an option as in reversal to Hardspace.
V2 is also coming soon.
